It’s rare that an instrumental rock album reaches the Billboard charts and produces popular radio hits. But 1987’s groundbreaking Surfing With the Alien was able to do just that, and much more, selling hundreds of thousands of records along the way to earn a Platinum certification. Upon its release, almost overnight, Joe Satriani became regarded as one of rock’s top guitarists, finishing at the top of guitar magazine polls for years to come.

Furthermore…not only is Joe Satriani one of the most technically accomplished and widely respected guitarists to emerge, some of the top rock guitar players of the '80s and '90s honed their own skills under his instruction. He has been around the world several times on tours of his own, as well as tours with Mick Jagger, Deep Purple, and hugely successful G3 summer tours and albums with fellow guitar legends Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. He has been both artist and teacher, instructing such famous pupils as Steve Vai, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, Counting Crow’s David Bryson, and jazz fusionist Charlie Hunter.

- The 20th Anniversary of Surfing With the Alien is celebrated with the release of a 2 DISC DELUXE LEGACY EDITION - CLICK HERE to Pre-Order

- Newly remastered by Joe Satriani and original SWTA producer John Cuniberti

- Features very personal liner notes and track-by-track commentary by Joe, never-before-seen photos and memorabilia from Joe’s personal archive

- Includes the charting hits “Satch Boogie” and “Surfing With the Alien”, plus the Grammy-nominated “Always With Me, Always With You”

- DVD features a never-before-seen live show from the 1988 Montreux Jazz Festival, filmed during the bombastic Surfing With the Alien tour and music videos

- VALUE ADD in each CD includes access to exclusive never-before-seen footage of Joe performing tracks from SWAT, Enter to win a Satriani gear package and much more!

SATRIANI LIVE! in Stores Now!

ORDER NOW!

Joe Satriani, having raised the bar on guitar playing and brought supreme musicianship back to rock & roll, is about to make history once again. The double-DVD package Satriani Live! takes multiple journeys into the essence of creativity and unprecedented access into one artist's world.

In addition to breathtaking, nine-camera footage of Satriani, rhythm guitarist Galen Henson, bassist Dave Larue, and drummer Jeff Campitelli tearing it up for more than two hours at their Anaheim stop during this year's Super Colossal tour, Satriani Live! captures them backstage and onstage on the last stop of that trek, with comments from fellow guitar legend Eric Johnson, candid moments with members of Joe's band and crew, and one amazing surprise unleashed by the audience that night in San Francisco.

Audio from HDNet's state-of-the-art production of the Anaheim show has been released in a double-CD package under the same title, Satriani Live!

The DVD complements this concert event with a different type of documentary: Flying in a Blue Dream, an account of the band's shows throughout India in 2005. Produced by Hamesh Haridas and Koushik Sarkar for Naughty Monk Films, Flying in a Blue Dream focuses equally on the music as well as the people and places that hosted the group, from young guitar students emulating their hero's moves to exotic landscapes that mirror the beauty and power of Satriani's performances.

With thirteen new songs, SATRIANI completes his transformation from stunning instrumentalist to fully-realized artist. Since the late 80's, the guitar virtuoso has been winning over fans and musicians alike with his groundbreaking style and legendary sounds.

Co-Produced by SATRIANI and Mike Fraser (AC/DC), Super Colossal features SATRIANI performing on all of the guitar and bass parts. Live drums were cut on four tracks by session giant Simon Phillips, the rest were played by Satriani's longtime collaborator Jeff Campitelli. The 13 diverse tracks on the album range from the title track's thundering, foot-stomp beat and intricately textured lead line, to the spiritual intensity of "A Love Eternal" and the raucous, party-down exhilaration of "Crowd Chant."

Live in Tokyo is a DVD and double-disc CD featuring guitar legends Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Dream Theater's John Petrucci. These electrifying live performances were recorded on May 8th at the Tokyo Forum, when critically acclaimed guitarist Satriani brought his popular G3 tour to Japan for a series of sold-out dates.

Fans attending the packed-house shows were treated to individual sets by each six-stringer, followed by an evening-ending all-star jam session. The G3 tour began back in 1996 with a lineup that featured Satriani, Vai and Eric Johnson. An action-packed DVD with performance highlights was released and has since been certified platinum. In 1997, Satriani and Vai again reunited and added Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Robert Fripp to the bill. In May 1998, the tour headed to Europe where Satriani was joined by Uli Jon Roth and former Scorpions guitarist Michael Schenker. The 2001 G3 tour featured the team of Satriani and Vai again, along with Petrucci. In fall 2003 Satriani and Vai were joined by Swedish player Yngwie Malmsteen for a successful 5-week run. A live CD, entitled G3 Live: Rockin' in the Free World and a nearly platinum DVD entitled G3 Live In Denver were released on February 24, 2004.
