What you say about Kula Shaker

I was happy to have caught the show in Washington D.C. in April. As I expected it was a wonderful time. It was a nice change to have music I could belly dance to at the 9:30 club. Crispian was kind enough to swing down and give some of the audience a hand-shake which they were delighted with. I certainly look forward to seeing the band again in D.C. And hope that a fan club will be started here in the U.S. - which as always I would be delighted to run with the consent of the band. Sincerely, Lara Day Kozak

I had the pleasure of seeeing KS at "Mississippi Nights" in St. Louis last February. It all then became perfectly clear. I was awakened.

I wasn't at the show, but heard it on the radio live. I kept driving my car around Boston, unable to stop listening . I realized then my soul was starving for action. Within a month I had taken up yoga, bought a new guitar amp, and started making a film. Susan Gay Barnaby Travis

For the second time in Los Angeles, Paul was outside the venue beforehand alone. Do the other three continually try to ditch poor Paul, sending him on a heroic quest to find them in a strange town?

I was at the Kula Shaker page and saw that you wanted concert stories well I got one for ya, I was at the Atlanta, Georgia show on April 14th and about an hour into the show ya'll blew out the amp and stopped the show! I was so pissed that I didn't listen to K for the rest of the week, but then I forgave you and realized that its not your fault that you rock so hard that your speakers can't contain all the great music flowing out of them. I just hope ya'll are coming back soon and you will play an extra long show this time. Looking for ya on the H.O.R.D.E. tour with Beck and Ben Folds Five,

NO BEGINING, NO END, JUST PARADISE IN HAMBURG AND ETERNAL FIDELITY TO THE ONES THAT MADE ME FLY WITHOUT FEAR OF THE AIR. SUN RISES, SUN SETS, THE TIME PASSES AND THEY WILL BE HERE. NO MISTIC EXPERIENCE, WAS MORE THAN CAN BE TELL WITH WORDS. ETERNITY IN ONE WORD. L.A.

I first heard Kula Shaker in early June 1996 on BBC world service and immediately fell in love. I finally got the opportunity to see them 9 April 1997 at 1st Ave. in Minneapolis. Headswim opened, but they were nothing compared to the mystical event about to happen. When Kula came on, I froze, for Jay was a mere 5 feet away. My heart pounded and my head rushed as they went through less familiar songs like "For this Love", "Hush", and "Go Kula". Despite an amp blowing out and my friend hollering comment including "organ solo", "Jay's God", and "Jerry was there dammit", it was the best show I've seen in my short 17 years. After the show, I had the chance to meet them though I blew it with stupidity (I called Jay God to his lovely face, said bass was the second best instrument, etc...). They were really cool and too nice to be pop stars. I came away having the best night of my life and I continue to look back on it as a sort of epiphany. Thank you Kula! (love, Britt K.)

MY REVIEW FOR KULA SHAKER'S CONCERT AT THE METRO IN CHICAGO ON APRIL 12TH,1997 THEY RULED MORE THAN ANY OTHER BAND THAT HAS EVER RULED BEFORE!!! KULA SHAKER WAS MY FIRST ROCK CONCERT EVER AND THEY COULDN'T HAVE BEEN BETTER!! AS THEIR SONG 'SMART DOGS' SAYS: "IT'S A FEELING LIKE NO OTHER, SPENDING EASTER WITH YOUR MOTHER."
