After listening to this show a few days ago I realized I should share the events of this memorable evening.

Pearl Jam played in Missoula, MT for one last warm up for their Asian tour in support of Vitalogy.

The show turned out to be one of epic proportions. The band had somewhat of a frantic energy. In the midst of the Ticketmaster controversy, Pearl Jam could still put on an amazing show.

Corduroy started the show with one of the longest intros I have ever heard. The stormed through Spin the Black Circle, Last Exit, and Tremor Christ. A huge surprise came next when a 4-minute version of Porch was played mid-set. A mid-set Porch was nearly unheard of both years before and after this show.

Blistering versions of Glorified G, Go, Animal, and State of Love and Trust contrasted perfectly with Daughter and Not For You with a slow Stuff and Nonsense intro.

Ed gave a speech with a bunch of word analogies using "B.S." He ended the poem with "Big Sky" in reference to beautiful Montana. This closed the set with a wonderful Immortality.

The first encore was powerful--Satan's Bed, Whipping, a slightly different version of Even Flow, and the most amazing W.M.A. I have ever seen or heard live. This is actually one of the few times that Jack has played W.M.A. live. Blood closed out the first encore.

The second encore started with a solo Ed playing Bob Marley's Redemption Song in honor of what would have been Marley's 50th birthday that week. It was beautiful, unlike anything I had ever seen. Mike shined on Yellow Ledbetter and they ended the show with, "this is a happy song, everyone have a great time, have a great life-we'll see you next time" ...Let My Love Open the Door.

This show was small and beautiful in every way. It was great for Pearl Jam to get out of the crowds and masses to play truly a great show.

Thanks PJ, for every note and word.
