Wow it's a hot Friday evening, left home at 5pm to catch the bus and trains to the Singapore Indoor Stadium for my first ever concert! Met an old high school buddy at the bus stop and he was going to the show too, this looked like the start of a great evening!

They trains & buses were packed with people, it was Hari Raya (Muslim end of Ramadan holiday), everyone was going somewhere, by the time we got in to the Stadium it was 7.30pm!

There were constant PA messages for the crowd to stay in control, at one point, they were throwing chairs around to make space for a mosh pit infront of the stage!

Finally, everyone got their act together and Mudhoney took to the stage, to warm the crowd up! They played most of ther new songs from their new CD "My brother the Cow." Mark Arm & gang were in top form, the crowd was pleased!!!!!

About half an hour after the Mudhoney set, Pearl Jam took over! The crowd erupted as Pearl Jam, came on stage! Against a red/purple backdrop Eddie slowly opened with Release, so powerful, almost like a prayer! Then the lights came on and they lauched into Go! The first thing I noticed was Jack Irons had cut his hair really short! And Mike had a short, blondy hairdo!!! The crowd was wild!!!! Moshing out of control!

Spin the Black Cicle, Corduroy, Not For You and Lukin kept everyone bouncing around for awhile! Mike, Jeff and Stone were all over the stage like demented grasshoppers!!!

Animal, Jeremy and Rearviewmirror kept energy levels high! Things slowed down a little for Immortality.....but not for long, they dove straight into Alive and Blood! At the end of Blood, Jack pounded on the drums continuously, as Eddie destroyed his mic stand! That closed the set!

For their encore, Pearl jam opened with Daughter and they blended WMA and what sounded like Little Wing on the end of the song, pretty darn cool! Then power-packed versions of Why Go and Porch kept everyone moshing away!

For the closer they brought out Mudhoney and the two bands played Sonic Reducer!

I was blown away, that night I had no sleep, as I replayed every moment of the show in my head! Pearl Jam had won a fan for life!
