ticket Tonight I saw the second Pearl Jam gig in Britain for about 4 years. I had seen them on the Monday but only managed to get hold of a seated ticket (we were about a mile from the stage and even had to hire binoculars!), and since the Fan club gave access to standing ticket, I couldn't resist going for a second time. (Still, I panicked that they would be seats-huge sigh of relief when they gave us the lovely coloured ticket. To the pit....) Anyway on to the gig itself.

The support was given by the Fastbacks whose set was definitely energetic but once P J hit the stage, the support set merged into one. The opener was Release which led into Last Exit then Animal. Three great tracks to start the evening. The tracks they played off No Code were good to hear, and the drums sounded really great (this coming from an avid Dave A. supporter). At one point we got Jeff's attention. Cool. After all, everyone else shouts for Eddie.

I thought the highlights were Smile which they played for the first time on Monday. Eddie said that someone messed up then. It turned out to be Stone on bass, so they promised to play it properly this time. It turned out fine especially when Eddie threw his harmonica into the crowd.

After listening to all of the live shows on tape it was amazing to actually see a show. Footsteps was superb (*This is the third track we ever wrote together.*) The final track of the night: Yellow Ledbetter was a great finale and climaxed with a great guitar solo by Mike. This brought to an end another great gig, let's hope they don't leave it so long next time. I certainly left on a high.
