Wow!! I don't know if it was the fact that I was very close this time, but I don't have words for how much better this show was than Friday's.

It actually was the best thing that could have happened, raining during PJ's set. All the seats up at front were empty. All the Stones yuppies (Stuppies?) didn't want to sit in the rain to see PJ, so every seat up there was taken by a PJ fan (the guards were very nice about letting us through). The crowd enthusiasm and feedback must have inspired PJ even further to create an absolutely magical combination.

This was by far, the best time I've ever had with PJ (out of 7 previous times). They finally got their audience at these Stones' shows, and they loved it.

They all came on in matching sweat suits, but Eddie soon stripped down to his favorite faded brown t-shirt and pants. He embraced the rain, and it seemed to charge him up. His hair was all wet and he looked great!! His voice was strong, and the band was hot and tight.

Before the show, I mentioned to my friend (who likes what she hears on the radio but doesn't own any albums) that she was going to see the best two rock bands in the world. She said, well, maybe two of the best. About halfway through the third song, she turned to me and yelled, "You were right, this IS the best band in the world!"

Magical.

I have never liked "I Got Id" all that much, but it really rocked. Jeremy had a little different bit in there that was very nice. Daughter ended with Rain (very appropriately) and something where he was going, "Ch" to the beat and it just grabbed me in the pit of my stomach. Best Daughter I've ever heard (and he nailed "rise above"). Brain of J has really tightened up and gotten better since I heard it in San Jose. Second time I heard Do The Evolution, and it's great. Just when you think that every time you turn on the radio, you hear Alive, you hear it live again, and it becomes new again. Best I've ever heard of this song, too.

At one point, he mentioned the rain and said something like, "All those people from the 12 step program sitting up in the boxes, I hope you're staying dry."

Best moment - during Alive, when he pointed backstage where the Stones were waiting, and sang, "They're still alive." Ah, Eddie, you're so funny!

Mike's solos were very inspired and mind-blowing. I'm sure the Stones would be afraid to have him play with them, but I hope for Mikey's sake they do.
