I started saving money to see Pearl Jam after their last tour ended so no matter what, I could see them when they toured again. Well, it was well worth the wait to FINALLY see my first show. I flew all the way from Indiana and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Anyway, about the show...

Pearl Jam came out in rainproof outfits which looked cool (Eddie eventually gave his to the audience like the nice guy that he is). From the very first song you could tell that the band was having a lot of fun up there. Eddie commented on the rain saying that since everyone drank so much from the last show, it all their perspiration that went into the atmosphere - or something to that extent.

Even Flow really rocked, especially with Mike's solo. After Jeremy, Eddie announced that the band had gotten burned out on that song in the past but these past shows had shown them how much it still means - it was very moving and yet again showed how happy they were playing again. The only song that they played off of the new album was Do the Evolution which was very funky and had a great groove. For those of you who haven't heard Brain of J before, you should look on the Web for a wav (I once found it using Yahoo!) file of this song because it is so powerful. The show ended in a beautiful rendition of Black and the crowd, yet again, erupted with applause. Pearl Jam was definitely rocking for this show!!!

Unbelievable! I'm from Chicago and took a short trip (2 1/2 days) out to San Francisco with my mother (a Stones fan and NOW a Pearl Jam fan) just to see Pearl Jam. My mother had already seen the Stones here at Soldier Field, so basically the only reason she came along was to rent the car and the hotel room. We both had tickets to the November 18th show. Unfortunately, because of some too bad circumstances we were late and I missed about 25 minutes of the show. There was nothing I could do about it. The rest of the show was awesome. I could not believe that I was there and I still don't. In a way, I think those feelings enhanced my feelings about each and every song and I just didn't know what to do! I screamed... a lot! Scream, sing, scream, sing, cry, scream, sing. It was too awesome of a performance. I was mesmerized by Eddie for a lot of the show, just staring at the screens trying to see through him. There were just so many emotions running through me that I didn't know what else to do, it was a natural high I guess. I stayed for the Stones and they were great... excellent. I'm not a big fan of theirs and I didn't come all the way from Chicago to see them, but I definitely understand why they are loved so much by so many different generations. I could definitely see the power of their music and presence.

I went to the show on the 19th and was able to see the whole thing. I am very happy I was able to hear Given to Fly and "It's Evolution, Baby!". I am very unhappy however that I didn't stay for the Stones show and that I missed Eddie singing with Mick. I could kick myself 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 times right now :) For this show I loved hearing more of the songs off of No Code. I've only been to one other PJ show and that was in '95 (Soldier Field) (I find it kind of funny that the only 2 times I've been in a football stadium have been to see Pearl Jam hehe. :) This experience was definitely worth the missed classes and the financial aid money I had to spend!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful music! Everything was so beautiful!!! I love you Pearl Jam! My mom loves you Eddie! KEEP ON ROCKIN', you absolutely have to!!
