It was an old school show starting off slow with LR, the first half hour or so soars, until "Dissident" then the crowd really starts going nuts. "Rearviewmirror" had very cool effects when they jammed during a 7 minute version to it. The daughter tags included Madonna's "Ray of Light" (And I feel...like a) and Pink Floyd's ever so popular ("We don't need no...")

While the foursome is jammin' to Alive, Eddie walks around stage waving Hi to all the adoring fans in the obstructed view seats. He then makes a comment on how he sometimes forgets the lyrics to the songs because he sits and thinks about what building he is in and gets distracted. He also comments that "This band has played the Chicago Stadium, Soldier Field, The United Center...only one more...Wrigley Field" Mike's solo at the end of "Black" is simply amazing, which is right after they did a little Jam during Black. Of Course they threw out numerous things into the crowd such as picks and tambourines. Eddie tossed his guitar in the air and smashed it into a few pieces at the end of "Baba O'Riley (A Cover of "The Who")"; while Jeff imitates Pete Townshend at the end of "The Kids Are Alright," machine gunning the audience, as the place went completely nuts! Eddie wore a Bulls jersey, #3 with "Vedder" on the back that he said Rodman gave him and he wasn't there but he'd give him a tape of the show. At the end of Baba O'Riley, Ed said good night but the band wanted to play one more...Yellow Ledbetter. At the end, Matt threw his drum sticks into the crowd as Eddie said "Thanks everyone...I hope everyone has good lives, I really do...Thanks Matt...NO THANKS TO JERRY KRAUSE" (Ed laughed.) Then he reached down for his Wine and said..."Now I'm going to get drunk."

All in all, it was the most incredible show out of the three (2 Alpines/UC) It was upsetting that they didn't play Porch, although they played it twice during the soundcheck at the UC...maybe they couldn't get it to flow yet. It was also unpleasant to hear a fan say they talked to the band and they wouldn't play Breath because...well...they can't remember it. No matter what...they will always be the kings of rock!!

Wow!!! What a show! When PJ came on they opened up with Long Road, not my favorite, but still great nonetheless. Then they broke into "Do The Evolution", this seemed to really get the crowd going. Then after that they started "Brain of J", I really love this song. Then they played Hail, Hail, one of my favorites off of No Code. Then, "GO", this really got the crowd into it. And then Dissident, not my favorite song either, but they did play a great version of it though. After Dissident they played "Even Flow", this seemed to be a crowd favorite. And then "Given To Fly". And then "Corduroy", which is one of my favorite songs off of "Vitalogy". Then Rearviewmirror. After "Rearviewmirror", Eddie introduces "In Hiding" by saying that "this is a new one". They then play "Jeremy", another crowd favorite. (This song really seems to get the crowd going) And then "Daughter", which contained two tags, the first being Madonna's "Ray of Light", the second being the Pink Floyd song "Another Brick in the Wall".

To My pleasure, next they played "Nothingman" (first time hearing it live), what a great version of the song this was. Then they broke into MFC (Mini-Fast-Car). Next on the list "Off He Goes", Eddie tells the crowd that he cannot play this one because he is only drinking Gatorade. Anyway he starts and stops, and after his little speech to the crowd about only drinking Gatorade he plays "Off He Goes". Then everyone leaves the stage besides Mike and Ed and they play "Present Tense", I thought that this song was extremely intense. And then to close out their set they played "Alive." During this the crowd really got into it and was probably at their peak level of intensity.

About five minutes after Eddie and the boys had left stage they came back and played "Wishlist", followed by "Better Man" with the tag "Save it For Later". After that they go into "State of Love and Trust", what a version that was, by this point I was really getting into it. And then they played "Black", and to cap off their first encore they played "Last Exit" "No mistakes this time : )" After about two minutes Eddie comes out with the tambourine and talks about Dennis Rodman and how he is going to give him a tape of the show since he cannot be here. Then they break into the Who's "Baba O'Riley", midway through this song Ed throws the tambourine into the crowd. And then to close out the night they play "Yellow Ledbetter", which after the song Matt throws both sticks out into the audience, one of them was caught by the guy right in front of me, and the other landed in the aisle right next to me, I was upset because I did not get either of the sticks. I thought that Matt Cameron played a terrific show, and brought a huge amount of energy to the songs. This was an amazing show, and I will remember it always. Can't wait for St. Louis and K.C. next weekend.
