Pearl Jam proved to be the best band in the world because of this concert. Before the concert me and my friends had to wait outside in the humid 110 degree weather but it was more than worth it to see the crew up on stage. Once we got in and got settled Spacehog was on and I couldn't wait for Pearl Jam. Once Spacehog was done the crowd started to get anxious and started cheering at everything. Then the lights went off and everyone lost it. Everyone in the Coliseum was standing right from the start. Pearl jam got on stage and didn't waste any time opening their set with Corduroy. That song woke the crowd up even more and people started to get thrown around down at the bottom and I was wishing that I had got down their. The energy that Pearl jam emits from the stage is amazing and teamed up with the lights and the atmosphere anyone could just get lost in the music. Sometime after Leatherman, Eddie stopped and talked to the crowd and said something like when they got into Arizona it was so Fucking hot and wondered if anyone else noticed. Right when PJ left the stage before the encore the crowd was the loudest I had heard it that night. About 5 minutes later they came back on stage and told everyone they were thinking of leaving but of course they came back. Right before they got back into playing Eddie told the crowd how wonderful we were and pointed out to all of us and then broke into the song "Go" and everyone lost it the whole place was jumping like crazy. At the end they said they were going to play one more song and it turned out to be Leaving Here, which is a kick ass song(oh yeah). Well, that was definitely the best concert I have ever been to and I wanted to thank the guys from Pearl Jam for coming and putting on such an great show!

Well me and my friends got to veterans memorial coliseum at 5:00pm with hopes that we'd get in and get to the front row. (By the way the concert started at 7:30) When we got there, there was a huge line and the heat was pounding on us so front row didn't exactly happen. We all finally got in and Spacehog came out and they were pretty damn good but a lot of PJ fans didn't think so and were yelling for them to get off stage, I guess Stone likes them because you could see him on the side watching and grooving along. In the middle of Spacehog people started pushing ,shoving, and mosh pits started growing. After a long wait and being pushed, shoved, and kicked by all the fucking idiots surrounding me (You know who you are).

Pearl Jam finally came out and the waiting drove me mad!!!! Interestingly enough they started with a rocking version of corduroy. Mike started playing Brain of J and pulled off some incredible solos everyone in the audience was in awe. Once, they played In Hiding the crowd joined in and sang the chorus it was great you could really feel the music just pounding all over it was a great feeling. A couple songs after that they played Daughter a great live song altogether they did some improvisation a usual they put some W.M.A and some other song that I'm not sure of. An incredible version of Better Man/Save It For Later, Evolution was incredible live as Alive was as well.

Then finally Ed said that they were tired and they had to leave here and of course played Leaving Here with solos from Stone, Mike, and Ed. I was in awe of this incredible band, Matt added tons of flavor to there songs which was really nice to hear, Stones funky rhythms, Mikes awesome solos, and of course Ed's incredible voice. I myself had a couple emotional moments. I've loved PJ since 92 and have heard all their songs but hearing them live just touched me emotionally, and on Better Man and Elderly Woman I shed a tear or two just the emotion was there and the music was there. This concert was so great that i couldn't really put it into words but i tried.

P.S. moshers go home

What can really be said? It was everything I'd hoped for and a great deal more. PJ's show at Vet's Memorial was probably the best I'd ever seen them play and definitely one of the highlights of my concert-going experience. The set list was diverse, multi-faceted and pulled liberally from every album. I hadn't hoped to hear "Leatherman" live, even though it's one of their better tracks. Eddie's voice was soaring and strong throughout the set, turning classics like "Alive", "Jeremy" and "Go" into stripped-down hotrods. In fact, the whole set was infused with a punk-like intensity that had been missing four years ago. The new blood behind the drum kit seemed to have sparked a fire underneath everyone, since tempos were punched up, chords were brutalized and lyrics were urgently cast out. Adding to this was the crowd involvement: instead of most shows where the crowd sings along for a moment or two during "radio" hits, the PJ crowd on Wednesday night were only silent for a moment or two. One of the grandest experiences was hearing everyone assembled belt out the words to "Alive" and "Better Man". At those points, the concert moved beyond being just a pretty cool show by a popular artist; it became something a little more wonderful and a lot more difficult to define. Needless to say, the rousing "rock" parts roared, the hushed ballads and pleas seemed heartfelt and Eddie and the boys never seemed less than sincere. Shows this good don't come along very often.
