At 7:35 the craziness began. Cheap Trick just finished the loudest set I have ever witnessed, they just attacked the crowd with their music. Some quiet followed after their set and then it all began, I was about 50 feet from the stage, and all of the sudden there was a huge surge of people coming up from behind me, surprising me and everyone around me. This madness continued until around 8 when the roadies left the stage. The sun was going down and Pearl Jam took the stage.

Corduroy rang out and the madness began again. I have seen them 3 times before, and never witnessed this much energy, from the band or from the crowd. I am big, but I was even being pushed around, my glasses were knocked off, and we were all suddenly surrounded by a huge cloud of dust. This is all that we could breathe and see for about 15 minutes as the boys ripped through their fastest songs, with Matt Cameron attacking his drums and driving the band to a harder level than ever before. It was tough for me to concentrate on the music that I love so much so my friend and I moved back about 50 feet to a spot where we could have some room to enjoy the music and get into our own groove. From here on out the music moved my soul and body.

I really connected with the band on Given to Fly and In Hiding. When Nothingman started I was blown away, but they continued with the "man" theme and played Better Man and the b-side Leatherman. (which I requested on the net, so I was excited, to say the least.) So that was a treat, I wondered if they would ever play those 3 together...

But the biggest treat was next, I have never heard Alive played with so much soul before, by the end of Mike's second part of the solo I was just about moved to tears, the song was just so powerful and beautiful, a great way to end the set... The encore rocked, with Rearviewmirror and Black shining, but Do the Evolution brought back everyone's energy, backed by Todd McFarlane's video, and they came back out for yellow ledbetter, doing the usual "turn on all the house lights" thing, but Mike played the song differently, making it a new ending to this great show.

Well, let me start off by saying that that was by far the best concert that I have ever been to. Pearl Jam put on a show like I have never seen before......Molson Park was packed, there had to be between 20,000-30,000 people there. Throughout the day there were bands playing on stage but most people were out in the parking area having a ball waiting for the band that they all came to see come onstage. We entered the park at around 6:15 to see Cheap Trick coming on stage. They played a good set, and when they left the stage at around 7:35 everyone knew who was coming on next and the place started to fill up. Finally at about 8:05 Eddie and the boys took to the stage and the place went nuts. They started right into Corduroy (what an opener!) and proceeded into Brain Of J., and Hail, Hail. Everyone was full of energy after all these heavy songs were played. Pearl Jam creates such energy on stage even though they don't move around a lot. Most of the night they were all glued to their places, except for a brief moment when Eddie walked out to the far right of the stage and then the far left to try to get the fans into it even more. It worked!

They played every song that I wanted them to play (with the exception of Go and In My Tree)It was one of the best set lists on the tour so far. Eddie did and said some interesting things during the night, including kicking a football out into the crowd that landed about 5 feet from me. He talked about the doomsday clock ticking and how "we're all gonna die fuckers" it was hilarious. Some of the highlights of the night were: Everyone singing along to Alive, Black, Jeremy, Daughter, Given to Fly, and Even Flow. Some of my personal favorites included Rearviewmirror, Corduroy, Leatherman, Yellow Ledbetter, and I Got Shit. All around a wonderful performance!

Pearl Jam is my favorite band and I have waited 6 long years to see them. They didn't disappoint. I would pay anything to see them again! I know that there were a lot of people around us that were taping the show and if anyone is reading this that did, could you please email me and we can work something out! Thanks!

What can I say.....the fourth PJ show i've seen was the best yet. The drive from Detroit was a mere 4 hours and was well worth it. The boys were in rare form, and I think they raise up a level for outdoor shows. Everything was right....I missed the first two songs, but I don't care, they played so many it was unreal. My personal favorite part of the show was the Man trilogy, Nothing, Better, and Leather. Ed said that we were a special crowd and we would be rewarded. And boy were we ever. I had front row center in front of Ed and just making eye contact with him gave me a ridiculous burst of adrenalin. This show reminded me of my first show in Ft.Lauderdale,Fla in 96. It was general admission like this and the boys were in great spirits in both shows. But anyway, you can see the setlist so I don't need to analyze each song, but I can say that by the end of the show I was in my boxers only because evrything I was wearing was drenched. My only disappointment is that they didn't play Wash. I held up a sign and threw it on stage but I dont think they noticed it. Whatever though, this band is the group of the decade no questions asked.....I can't wait for the Palace show tonite...
