Excellent Show!!!!! I can die now. This was my first Pearl Jam show and man
was it good. The whole show was top of the line they can really kick ass
live.
When Pearl Jam opened with Hail, Hail I knew it was going to be good, then into
Animal. WOW!! Eddie was in great form, although he did say that his throat
was bothering him you really couldn't tell. He joked about not doing an
encore which drew boos from the crowd, but then he asked the crowd how
they liked being fucked with - that was pretty cool. There was a rumor going
around before the show that Eddie was in one of the parking lots
skateboarding around and spilling his beer on his board, which we thought
was kinda stupid for people to believe that kind of rumor but at the end of
the show he said something about the crowd knows how to party in the
parking lots in Cleveland....So I guess he was really boarding there---Who
knows?
Other tunes they did were Daughter, MFC, Alive, Jeremy, Do The
Evolution, WMA, Rearviewmirror, Wishlist, In Hiding, Even Flow, Elderly
Woman..., A real great version of The Who's Baba O'Riley after a
little speech about The Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame (Don't worry Eddie you guys'll be there). They also did Better Man, Leatherman, Black, Some more I
don't remember, but the best was the 2nd encore of Yellow Ledbetter and the
great guitar playing of Mike McCready.
Man what a show!!!!
I want to thank Pearl Jam for putting on a great show. You guys are one
great band, Keep it up!!!

The tour continued to Cleveland and PJ once again rocked the house. This was my sixth show and it ranked pretty high in my book. We drove 2 and a half hours to see them without tickets and scored two lawn seats for 10$ each, pretty good deal. The place was packed, and Ed and the boys played for 2 hours. They had a weird setlist, opening with Hail,Hail and throwing in Footsteps early. But they played with just as much energy as they did in the past few shows in Detroit and Barrie. The major difference between this show and those was the fact that my seats were really close for those, while here I could hardly see the guys. I can't tell you how much difference it makes when you're up close and personal. Either way the music itself is incredible so I aint complaining. I loved hearing Leatherman again, what a great tune that is. Black, Ledbetter, and Baba were played to perfection. And they played a lot from Yield: Brain of J, DTE, MFC, Given2Fly, Wishlist, In Hidng, I wonder if they'll play all these tunes when tour in the future? Probably not seeing as they played only one song off their previous album(Hail,Hail) Small Town was nice as always, Better Man, RVM, and Corduroy were flawless. Great show, I'm sad to see them go east. Hopefully Ill be able to see the 3 shows in the NY area. But thanx for the memories PJ, I'll be seein you again soon. Keep up the good work Synergy, your home page is da bomb.

Just returned from the Pittsburgh>Cleveland shows and I must say that PJ
has done it again. Brilliance that is!!!!
I was disappointed to read the 'lame' review of Pittsburgh's show in one
of their (Pittsburgh) papers. Clearly the critic had a bias and went as
far to say that Pearl Jam was........flat? I sat fifth row each night
and was taken away by their performance so much that I often caught
myself so into the music that I momentarily forgot what song they were
jamming.
Clevelands show was different from Pittsburgh's in that the set lists
were mixed up and that gave each night, as well as every night they
play, a different and unique quality. Pittsburgh was more rowdy with the
crowd singing "let's go steelers" between one of the encores.
Cleveland's crowd seemed more laid back but just as into it.
"immortality">"footsteps">"even flow" were one of the many highlights as
well as Daughter/WMA; Small Town; Baba O'Riley...to name a few.
All through the night members of the crowd held up signs of songs they
wanted to hear. Some of them that I saw were: Porch; Small Town; Sonic
Reducer; Patriot. If I had one it would have been "wash" or "garden"
Eddie noticed them and said he would play them in the Encore. Small
Town was the first and Eddie pulled one out of the crowd and held it up
for the crowd to see...it read "baba"......PJ went into the Who song
with an unbelievable driving force and each of them mimicked their
roles: Pete, Roger, John, and Kieth.
throughout the song Eddie banged on the tambourine and flung it to two
young girls who were on the side of the stage all night after he busted
the skin on it.
If anyone is selling the "cleveland" posters that they were selling at
the show I am interested in two of them.
thanks,
PJ fan

1...2....3...4....I seem to recognize your face.......
Eddie teased us all in Cleveland. This the first song of the first
encore. Someone about 20 rows back had a large sheet that
read.....PORCH. I know I wanted to hear it badly. Anyway, Eddie began
with the 1..2..3..4 and broke into Elderly Woman. It was cool anyhow.
This show was awesome, great setlist. Started the show with Hail, Hail,
which was a surprise. As in INDY, Immortality and Rearviewmirror forced
me into a frenzy. By the end of Rearviewmirror I was in the isle
hopping up and down and flaring my arms, wow.
The intensity of Pearl Jam is amazing. I also heard Fooststeps for the
first time live, just as amazing as I thought it would be. Black was
intense as always with Mike going nuts for an extra minute or so to
finish it. They ended the first encore with Baba O'Reily. This is an
incredible live song, the fans were so involved. They used the strobe
lights for this one. FInished with Yellow Ledbetter, great ending song.
2 down, 6 to go. Each show has been better than the last. I can not
wait to hear what the guys have instore for us in NY.............Thanks
Pearl Jam. Any Pearl Jam tape traders who have this show, see my list
and lets trade.
