Brian (oppie1@worldlynx.net):
Just a fore-warning...i'm not good at writing and describing events, but I'll do the best I can do. First I would like to thanks the Ten-Club for giving me such AWESOME seats for the concert. I was 4th row..Dead Center of Eddie...

At 8 pm, Mudhoney hit the stage. I didn't know too many songs by them, but they sure do know how to rock. The only song I recognized was Poison Water. They were good, but I wanted PJ, so did 25,000 other people

Next was Iggy Pop, I havent heard anything from this guy. Never heard his music. But I must admit he is awesome. Watching him dance and jump around the stage was very kewl. I wish my pictures of him turned out. Oh well, after a killer cover of "johnny be good", he exited the stage, and the roadies began setting up for PJ. When the "colour red" began to play over the PA, and the crowd began to stand up and cheer, with chants of "eddie, eddie"

Release - WHAT AN AMAZING SONG!!! I heard the first few notes, and I just melted. I LOVE THIS SONG..what a way to open the show.

Animal - Within a few seconds of the end notes of release, the kick into a TIGHT version of Animal

Hail Hail - One killer song after another. This was one of my favorites of the night.

Given to Fly - Now they better had played this song, or I would have been upset. This song definitely shows the musical talent of Mr Mike McCready. He was the star of this night, in my eyes...you'll find out later why....

Corduroy - Ed goes back and picks up his Gibson SG (What happened to the Tele's Ed??) strums a little notes, kinda sounded like Not For You, then he breaks out into a TIGHT ver of Corduroy. This is one of the songs you can listen over and over and not get sick of.

MFC - As soon as Corduroy ends, Ed switches guitars (Looked like a Schecter Imitation Tele) and starts MFC..."there's no leaving here, ask i'm an ear..she's disappear"

I Got Shit -

Even Flow - Remember when I said that tonights star was Mike..well this is one of the reasons why. He pulled out the BEST solo I have ever heard from him. He was just totally on tonight

Jeremy - Next thing, the stage goes black, and the spot light is on Jeff. You hear those way-too-familiar notes of Jeremy. This is a good song, but not my fav.

Daughter - Stone switches from his Les Paul to his Hammer 2-tone and plays the first few notes of Daughter, and the whole crowd erupts. Near the end, before Ed started singing "the shades go down"..he made a little gesture like he was pulling down a shade. The tags were "no time like the present, to get ripped apart", and "wma".. After WMA, Ed said something like "i was happy to do wma, because one of my favorite episodes of cops was in philadelphia"

Off He Goes - Ed switched to his Gibson ES, chatted with for a minute or two, then went into a very sweet, mellow version of Off He Goes

Immortality - Last PJ show I went to in Washington DC in 1996, Ed started this, and stopped after first verse. I was upset to be deprived of such a good song. Well..h actually played the whole song last night :) .. with another KILLER solo from Mr. Mike McCready. at the end, I started doing the "i'm not worthy" bow from Waynes World, Mike looked at me and smiled.

Rearviewmirror - Ed started this song, and had some guitar problems at the end of the second verse, so he had to switch guitars. "saw things...saw things so much clearer"

Brain of J - I was getting worried I wasn't gonna hear this song. This is one of the best songs off Yield (Best being No way or Lowlight :þ )

Black - Out came the lighters for this one. Looking back on the crowd looked kewl with all the flames.

Better Man - No "save it for later" tag?? thats the best thing they ever added to that song. I'm not that fond of this song..I mean its a good song, but not one of my fav's

Alive - Ok..I hear the first notes, and I think that the first part of the show is over. Mike again had the spotlight on him for his Solo (w/ a Gibson Flying V). Man, I was there to mainly see Eddie and stuff, but I was watching Mike most of the night...THANKS MIKE!!

Encore break 1 - PJ left the stage, Roadies came on and taped the new setlist to the floor, and re-filled Ed's pot of coffee or tea ( I think it was tea)

Ed comes back on stage, and says "since we havent played here for a while, fuck it, we'll play anything you want" Mike, the Man, busts out into a few bars of Sweet Home Alabama, and then Ed singe a few lines from Elton John's Philadelphia Freedom. Someone yells for Hard to Imagine, Ed goes to talk to the band to see if they wanna play that, and I'm glad they did..this song ROCKS!!!

Wishlist - After Hard to Imagine is done, the mirror ball starts lowering, and Ed grabs his guitar, and starts into Wishlist, all 3 solo's were good, Ed is totally stuck on E-Bows.

Last Exit - I have yet to hear this song live, my friend said it's so intense live, and he wasn't lying. "life's a game of chess...look ma, watch me crash"

Go - when I heard this song, I was in heaven. The heavy bass from Jeff, killer solo from Mike (again :þ) and Ed's vocals.

Leaving Here - I though that the show was gonna end with this. I'm happy it didn't. The Crowd sung back-up vocals for Ed.

Once - Ed started this song by saying "once upon a time"...How many killer Solo's can Mike do in one night?? He was Just Shelling them out one-after-another

Elderly Woman - Stone grabs his 2 tone again and starts this (I always thought it was Eddie starting this)..I'm thinking they cant end the show on this song, I was waiting for Mike to start Yellow Ledbetter as soon as this song was done. But Ed thanked the fans, and they left the stage. Encore Break 2

Porch - Ed comes back saying "i've done alot of talking tonight, this is gonna be my last thing to say...1..2..3..4..what the fuck is this world" What a way to end the show. A nice long Jam in the middle...with yet another killer solo from Mr McCready. Ed walks along the stage, shaking hands with the fans, and gets into a little shouting match with the fans.. (Ed: Fuck, crowd: FUCK....) I cant believe the show is over..

I have been waiting 6 long years for PJ to come back to Philadelphia. I'm happy they came back for 2 sold-out shows in Philadelphia..and I'm happy to be apart of them both, (and others this tour)
