For a while it looked like it was going to be a miserable night at old Great Woods. The rain poured right up until starting time, and the pre-concert barbecue featured very soggy hot dogs. I'm happy to say that proved to be the only down point of the whole evening. I was happily surprised with the unbelievable set that the band put together for their first of two Boston shows. It was like a virtual trip down memory lane as the band hit on just about every song that has ever meant anything to me. I was not expecting to hear Alive, Black or Last Exit and they played them all with vigor.

The band did not speak early in the show, but rather played about 10 straight songs without taking a breather and the energy was unbelievable. I had requested two songs for the show (Hail, Hail and Yellow Ledbetter). The first song was played third overall, which was awesome and the band closed with a awesome rendition of the song that everyone tries to figure the words out to.

Eddie alluded to the band playing at Great Woods at Lollapalooza in 92, which was cool because that was the last time I had been fortunate enough to actually land tickets for one of their gigs. I wish I was going to the show tonight, but unfortunately I can't.

Thank you guys for the best concert experience of my life. My wife and I returned to college for one night and will always remember this show. It was the best. Thank you very much, and come back real, real soon.

An amazing show. Played all songs with staggering intensity. MM is the man - he added new life and style to all solos- Probably the best guitar solo within a song on Immortality that I have ever witnessed. Eddie was smiling and gracious but his growls and vocals had more venom and emotion than ever. He truly has aged with style. They all have developed amazing style with age. Highlights for me included Corduroy followed by Hail Hail and then the trio of encore songs Last Exit, Evolution and Black. Evolution was sooo good live. You can tell this is Ed's favorite new song-I have never seen him more animated or excited when performing. Fuckin' up was a nice treat and I was hoping for SMILE to follow but it was not to be. So many highlights. Every song was special. Do not miss this tour!

This was the first Pearl Jam concert that I have ever been to and it was by far the best concert I have ever seen. Just the aura over the entire crowd was immense. I was so stoked that they allowed me to bring in my recorder (ANY ONE WANNA TRADE FOR A COPY E-MAIL ME.) without any hassle and I was able to get in my camera as well. Oh yeah and getting my tix from the fan club in the 3rd row helped accentuate the night.

I need to give a shout out to Ben Harper for playing one Kick A@@ version of Jimi Hendrix's "voodoo child".

They started off the version with a great version of "sometimes" that seemed to mellow out the crowd a little bit except for the hundreds of people like I running up to the front barrier. They then went into "corduroy" and " hail, hail." probably my favorite songs off those albums the crowd was then going wild. Then into "animal" Which made everyone start jumping around. Then into "given to fly" followed by " daughter" where half the crowd were holding up lighters. Then into "immortality" Then into "rearviewmirror " which had everyone singing right with him. Then probably the best part of the concert he started singing the chorus of "crazy mary" followed by "wish list". Then into "jeremy" followed by "nothingman" this song almost had the crowd in tears."

Brain of J" was next, then "In hiding" two of the best songs off their new album. instead of the line "they were upside down"., he said "here are my balls " which made the whole crowd laugh. "Alive" came next. that was the end of their first set but not the end. eddie then gave thanks out to the crowd and read some of the signs people had up. there was one for "Hard To Imagine" that he liked. "Elderly Woman' "came next , then "Not For You". then stone thanked ben harper. they then jammed into "Last Exit" and "Do The Evolution" followed by "Black" the song that changed my life. then they played neil young's "Fuckin' Up" and walked off. when they came back for their second encore they played "Yellow Ledbetter" that made the entire night complete. thanks eddie, mike, stone, jeff, and matt for a concert i will never forget.
Set list. Sometimes, Corduroy, Hail, Hail, Animal, Given to Fly, Daughter, Immortality, Rear view mirror, (Crazy Mary chorus) Wishlist, Jeremy, Nothingman, Brain of J, In Hiding, Alive 1st encore: Elderly woman, Not for you, Last exit, Do the Evolution, Black, Fuckin' Up 2nd encore: Yellow Ledbetter
