I was left breathless and dazed as I left the show Wednesday night...after being there Tuesday, I knew that,
come hell or high water, I would have to return - and I am ever so glad that I did. This show rocked the
house...energy, passion, love, amazement, anger...the group was so tight and right on! They know what we
want and they provide - fully and wholly - no holds barred. The band appears to be at new levels - a higher
plane - a cohesive unit that functions so together, so complimentary to each other, and with so much passion.
From the passive Jeff to the Mighty McCready (you shine, brother Mike) to sideline Stone to fit-right-in Matt,
and of course, to the ever so feisty, yet angelic Eddie - Pearl Jam has added a specialness to my life through
lyrics and music that enables me to reflect and analyze not only myself but the world and the direction we are
all headed in. Most importantly, Pearl Jam brings me peace. Every song was performed with energy-packed
realism...lyrics ranging from divine beauty to socially conscious...packed with utmost intensity, Pearl Jam
provides for all. I will wait in angst for my next chance to see them live...together or as individuals with their
own side projects. Although highlights for me, musically, were Porch, Black, Rearviewmirror and Do the
Evolution, the entire performance was the best I have seen, thus far...and the sweetest rendition of Last Kiss
was a welcomed surprise - it just proved to me that Pearl Jam is capable of playing anything and sounding
phenomenal. Pearl Jam is a must see for everyone - I only hope that others experience the intensity and power
that Pearl Jam emanates as much as I do (or more!) We love you Jeff, Matt, Stone, Mike and Eddie - I don't
know how you guys do what you do, but please keep it up and keep it together - it's hard to imagine a group
so perfect - Peace and Happiness to you and all forever...Jeannie

I just saw the most amazing display of rock and roll ever! I got to the
show early to snag a good place on the lawn and wound up dead center.
Boy was I glad that I got there early because unbeknownst to the crowd,
Eddie snuck into Ben Harper's chair and said "i wish i was ben harper"
and played a solo acoustic version of "throw your arms around me" which
set the stage for the whole night.
This was my third pj show in 4 days and I still can't get enough. They
opened with their best openeing song, release and then changed gears
right into a rocking set of Brain of J, Hail Hail, and Given to fly
which is about "people who leave us", although the specific person was
left out. I got shit was also incredible. The lyrics were audible and
delivered with an tremendous force. They followed that up by improving
into "habit" A real treat was two of the best songs off No Code, Off He
Goes and Present tense. Eddie remarked that off he goes is a story which
the ending hasn't been written for yet. Before Present Tense Eddie read
two descriptions of Great Woods he got from articles from his hotel
room. The first was a tourism article that he mocked and the second said
that great woods marked a summer of drunken orgies on the lawn. Next he
said that he didn't want to interupt the drunken orgies with this next
song, but that present tense is one of his favorite songs.
McCready wailed on the Porch solo, at one point he was actually up
against a roadie soloing like mad, and running around the stage.
The encore rocked hard with a State, Go, Rearviewmirror, and Alive.
Mixed in there was better man with an 80's cover. Before "go" Eddie said
that if he was one of us and the summer was closing this is how he would
feel and they went right into the hardest rocking song of their sophmore
album.
The last song was a treat, "last kiss" which Eddie said they had played
a couple of days ago with a friend in the living room and it had sounded
good there and it would sound great here (possibly mocking the name
Great woods in his usual cynical style). After some initial problems
they got started and brought down the house.
The great woods crew turned on the house lights halfway through as Pearl
Jam approached theri 11 pm curfew. I of course wanted to hear one more
song, but no matter how many they played I would always want to hear one
more.
They are amazing, and I was even able to make an awesome recording of
the show.

RELEASE. As soon as it began - as soon as his voice washed over us - I
realized this would be a night I would never forget. I can't even put
much into words, it's so deep. I am suffering from intense post-Pearl
Jam depression today and my attempt to rehash the experience couldn't
possibly do it justice.
I was fortunate enough to see the shows Sunday and Tuesday as well.
Both were incredible, of course. But, last night was a demonstration of
the POWER of Pearl Jam.
Oh, man. I don't think they could've put a set together much better
than that. I mean, one right after the other they attacked us with
amazing songs...Off He Goes, Present Tense, Black, Evolution, Porch.
Insane! I left this planet for a little while. And I wish I could've
stayed out there - wherever it is that they take you - for a long, long
time. I doubt I will ever get enough.
Thank you, Pearl Jam, for giving me some of the most precious memories
and feelings I've ever had. And please come back soon. THE WAITING
DRIVES ME MAD.
