PEARL JAM: Nothing As It Seems (Mike McCready on electric guitar) - Daughter - Wishlist (Mike McCready on electric guitar) - Better Man - Pinball Wizard (riff) - Off He Goes -Black (Mike McCready on electric guitar) - Last Kiss

Sunday's show again began w/Neil's 3 song set and Emmylou Harris came on immediately after her. I don't really know her music, but she has such a beautiful voice. The Who came on next and played almost the same set as the night before. Since it was still daytime, we could see Ed down on one knee, rocking back and forth. He had a big grin on his face and raised his hands to clap after every song. It was really cool to get to see Ed being a fan. It made me realize that even the biggest stars have their idols and influences. Billy Corgan and James Iha made their way out next. Billy wondered aloud how privileged they were to share the same stage with legends like The Who, Neil Young and Brian Wilson. Someone must have then yelled out Pearl Jam, because Billy says, "Pearl Jam...No, not yet. But they will be." Lucinda Williams followed The Pumpkins and she played the exact same set as Saturday. Again Brian Wilson was one on the night's highlights. But tonight Neil joined him on the pump organ on "Good Vibrations" and Neil and Pegi Young, Ed Vedder, Roger Daltry, Emmylou Harris and Sheryl Crow sang backup on "Surfin' U.S.A. and Matt Cameron joined in on tambourine. Green Day also played the same set list as the night before, but still rocked the joint. During "Scattered" Billie Joe claimed, "This is a really great thing for us to be involved with...not just because of the cause, but because every fuckin' musician up here is better than we are."

Pearl Jam followed Green Day and everyone was up on their feet right away. Ed asked everyone to sit down but no one listened. They started out with Mike playing a very 'blues sounding' opening on an electric guitar. The new song was epic, just an amazing piece of work called "Nothing As It Seems." Mike switched to an acoustic and Matt began pounding a familiar beat, for a few seconds. I looked over to my friends and just said, "Daughter." Stone then jumped in w/that familiar opening and the crowd went nuts. There wasn't any kind of outro on "Daughter" tonight, just Ed kinda chanting/breathing heavily into the mic and bringing it all back w/"The shades go down."

"Wishlist" on electric and its altered lyrics from the night before was next. "Better Man" made its way into the set next. I was hoping for "Save It For Later" to be added on at the end since "Daughter" didn't have an outro, and I could have sworn that Mike was kinda playing it, but no luck. Ed then started telling us that they've been talking and listening to stories with The Who (Mike plays a very quick 2 or 3 cords of "Pinball Wizard") and that Keith Moon's name kept coming up. Ed dedicated "Off He Goes" to Keith. After "Off He Goes" Stone started "Black" and Mike wailed out another great solo on electric guitar. Ed really fucked up the words by singing the second verse first and covering it up by changing the words to "I would have taught her the right words." And when it came time to singe the second verse and Ed pulled it off he claimed, "It's been a while."

After "Black" Ed grabbed his mic off the stand and stood up and thanked everyone for coming, thanking Neil and Pegi for asking them to come again and started to tell us that this was their 4th year playing Bridge School and that there's kids from the school that Ed considers his friends and began to point them out. By this time, all the lights are on the stage and Ed says he met a girl today (I can't remember her name for the life of me) but says that their last song is for her, and he knows that she knows the words. The whole band turns around (except for Matt, obviously) and plays "Last Kiss." In all seriousness, that was one of the most touching things I have ever seen. After thanking us the band walked over to the kids and shook hands, gave hugs. Ed was the last one off the stage. It was probably one of the greatest things I've ever seen at Bridge School.

Sheryl Crow and Neil Young (who was incredibly funny and talked to the audience more than I've ever seen him before) finished off the show. Neil and Pegi Young, Ed, Sheryl, Emmylou, Matt Cameron and Sheryl's string section came out for "I Shall Be Released" again tonight, but this time the focus was on Neil and Ed's duet w/everyone else backing them up.

I wish I had the time to go into detail about everyone's sets from both nights. It's always hard to say which night was better, or which Bridge School year was the best, but this year has got to be pretty hard to beat. And all my thanks to Neil, The Who, Pearl Jam, Brian Wilson, Billy Corgan, James Iha, Sheryl Crow, Green Day, Tom Waits, Emmylou Harris and Lucinda Williams for making this year's shows so special.

I travelled a long way to see Pearl Jam this time. I'm from Monterrey, Mexico. In the '98 tour I went to see the Albuquerque, NM show and to this date I'm blown away every time I hear that show's tape. This time I had my MD recorder ready, cause I knew I was in for a treat.

From the minute Ed entered the stage, this second show of the BSB '99, the crowd felt an amazing sense of energy emerging from him. He said something like: "I just wanna say from behalf of all of us that these last few days have been highlights for all of us on life on earth." Everyone just went crazy, then right on he said "here's a new song" and started to play. I just wanna say to everyone that this particular song is amazing. Even better than the new one they played the day before. I went through hell to get tickets but just by hearing this new song the whole trip was worth it. They continued their setlist with a new "drum beat intro to Daughter," Wishlist and Better Man. Then they threw Off He Goes in honor of Keith Moon. Ed said what a great experience it was to hear the stories from the members of the Who. They had to play Black to complete a perfect show, but unfortunately Ed messed up with the words a bit cause as he said himself, "It's been a while." He finished the set playing Last Kiss giving his back to the audience and singing the song for one of the little girls that was a student at the Bridge school and that Ed said to know her and became friends with her since the first year PJ played there.

Anyway I just wanna thank PJ for making this trip an excellent memory for me to behold for the rest of my life, and state that I'll be waiting impatiently until the Christmas Single and New Album arrive. I'm sure they will both be amazing.
