mdonah5@aol.com: I have been listening to and following Pearl Jam for a long time and just cant believe the star power of Eddie Vedder. Though it seems Eddie has finally dealt with the blow of stardom and gives the fans what they want. I don't know if hearing him play or listening to what he has to say gets me more. Parting I say this, Eddie Vedder has become a huge star and still believes in making quality music. He won't release something for the dollar. And to see his beliefs by doing this concert is very admirable. Eddie and Pearl Jam have given me lifetime memories and yesterday is no exception. The message that was sent yesterday was inspiring, thank you. Sean Stapleton (stapletn@home.com): When we got there the next day I was just amazed to be there and to be a part of the Tibetan Freedom Concert 2 years in a row. Before the show it was raining like crazy and I was worried that they were going to cancel the show because of the flooding rain. But , rain or shine , the show went on. By the time Eddie made it to the stage, the rain had stopped and the sun was starting to show its face a little. Mr. Vedder had us play the part of the drums for his first selection which was Last Kiss. I thought that was a cool way to pull people into the show. The crowd didn't have a great beat and was off a few times but that added to the song and made it more fun. He then acted like he was pulling just random people out of the crowd to be the drummer and bassist, and he actually had me untill they played a perfect Better Man. After he finished those two songs he went into some covers that I couldn't figure out. Which I thought was really cool. It is a window into what kind of music Eddie likes and who he looks up to. Well at the end of his show he went into a faster version of " I am a Patriot" which I loved from the Constitution Hall show in DC, this version was better because it had the Drums and Bass to give it more of a sound. I didn't even know that Eddie had walked through the crowd, I wish I had been able to at least see him as he passed by. Darn, haha,,,,, ok well I hope i gave you all a look into my experience of Eddie's show at Tibetan. If I was to go on and tell you about everyone else it would take up 8 pages so I won't add any more. I'll just say that it was a great show, and for me well worth the drive from Washington DC. later---------------------Sean |
