Kevin Pott: Hi, this was the best show I've seen in my whole life! First off I would like to thank all the people that were in the process of the fan club tickets. All of you are great. These were the best seats that I could ever get. We were in the 8th row up front. I just couldn't believe my eyes for a moment. I can't even describe what I felt like when I was actually there. I just kept thinking of all the people that made this experience possible for us tonight, and all the hard work that you all put in to these shows. Now on with the show.......First they started out with Of The Girl, which was just excellent, one of my favorite songs off Binaural. I had that song in my head all day long. Nothing As It Seems was really great. Ed made a little speech just before the song, saying "All the stuff that's going on in the States, guns, violence, political shit....If things like this continue on, we'll have to vote for Canadian citizenship." Which was really funny! Everyone cheered like crazy! Do The Evolution was one of the best songs. Everyone really got into it. With all the lights flashing, and all the beautiful colors, it was just fantastic! There was this improv bit that was really cool! Looking forward to listen to it on the next series of bootlegs. And that started off Habit which was great. Ed said this thing, when he usually says, speaking as a child of the 90's. He said something, but didn't quite understand. Better Man was so cool. Porch was one of the best versions I've heard in a long time. I've heard a lot of them from a couple of bootlegs, but from earlier years. During the jam part of it, Ed sang stuff, and all the crowd responded. That was like at least 2-3 minutes long, which was really great. I really love a band that can connect with the audience and make everyone join in the show with them. I Got Shit was pretty cool. I guess they played it cause some guy made a poster with I Got Shit on it. Leaving Here was really good also, I really wanted them to play it this year too. Fuckin' up was cool. A guy next to us made a poster with RITFW (Rockin' in the Free World) on it, Mike looked at it, but didn't quite understand, so the played fuckin' up, which was just as good! And the last song as always, almost, was Yellow Ledbetter. Mike did this nice ending bit, which sounded like an old 80's rock riff type thing. Everyone clapped their hands! So with all that said and done, I must thank all the band members for playing such a great show, and coming to Montreal was a treat for us. You guys don't come too often but when you do pass by, you leave such great memories. Memories that I will tell my children and grandchildren. So on that thought, please come again soon. We here in Québec must be your most dedicated fans, looking at all those faces surrounding me was just complete aaaaaahh's all over. Faces just lite up! Thanks again all of you, The fanclub people and stage people, and most of all, Jeff, Mike, Ed, Stone and Matt, you were all awesome! Ont vous aime énormément !!!! Ma gagne de chanceux. Kevin Pott
Eric Chenier (chain@vitalogy.org): It was my 5th show... and what a night. I will start by giving a big thanks to the fan Club for their "generous" front row seats(A). In Montreal only the first row (A) were giving the opportunity to be frontstage.. up on their feet! They started the show with my personal "first song today:" Off the Girl.... it was magic. They continued with Corduroy... Whipping, Grievance, Animal and God's Dice... WoW! They were at the finest of their art... Welcome masters! :o) What I love about Pearl Jam is their variety... able to change their setlists... go with the flow... speaking of which Even Flow was THE greatest song of the show. Their hability to innovate and change this old song.. WOW. State of love and trust is very popular in Montreal... and it showed. Everybody singing all the words. Highlight of the night: Well its a close victory over Even Flow but when Eddie gave me is guitar pick... Great night, great Songs... minimum lighting effect....
GDZ (JamesDean@videotron.ca): Well, what can I say......Montreal just loves Pearl Jam!!! I waited in line 2 days to get the best available tickets for the show and it was well worth the wait. The night started off mellow with Of the girl but quickly picked up tempo with a solid performance of Corduroy despite Stone's guitar problems!! Afterwards, the crowd really started to get into the concert after the band played Last Kiss and when Ed suggested that he might become a Canadian citizen if George W. Bush was elected, people just went crazy!! (Eddie you can stay at my place, my mom makes great pasta....:)) The first part of the show ended with a bang! The band played Porch, one of my favorite songs! After the first encore, Eddie asked the lighting crew to turn on the lights so he could have a glimpse of all his admiring fans. Well, its getting kind of late and I need my rest after an energy draining show! As usual, Pearl Jam have delivered the goods, they are full money!! GDZ |
