My head is ringing like mad . . . the crowd was extremely loud! I decided to just jump on-line for a quick "hello" before heading off to sleep and then to Toronto tomorrow. So sleeeeepy!

Ahh, Montreal. . . what to say? It wasn't the smoothest of shows, but the energy was very high. I was in JB back in August and those seems to be a little less choppy, but the band settled in after Stone's equipment problems which enabled them to switch up the setlist (there was a lot of in-between song meetings). They played Whipping!! How rare is that? An unexpected Last Kiss, and also cool was a different variation of the pre-Habit improv.

The band really hit a grove after the mid-way point of the first set. They blistered through the end with back-to-back Even Flow and a cool extended jam Porch, where Eddie actually went over to get a guitar and jammed along.

The 1st encore was very intense, including an amazing Breakerfall with some very cool blue lights blazing into the crowd, and an amazing version of State (is it just me, or does this song make you go nuts at shows?). A tight Leaving Here ended the 1st encore, and at this point, I figured we'd get Ledbetter at that's all.

They come back, Ed grabs the Tambourine (so it could either be Baba or Fuckin' Up, and it was the latter. The house lights come on, so this has to be the last song right? Nope, they stayed for a nice version of Ledbetter (anyone catch what that riff was that Mike played on the outro?)

All in all, it was a great show. The energy was building right till the end.

Lowlights: Pilate (just can't get into that song) Stone's problems. Surprisingly Ed only flub a few lyrics (Wishlist and maybe Fuckin' Up - he then hit his head with the tambourine)

Highlights: Even Flow & Porch back-to-back to end the first set (two of my favorites). And the two-song-house-lights final encore with Fuckin' Up and YL. Very high energy.

See you in Toronto,
Paul

I've got memories, I've got Shit, so much it don't show... Once again, Nick and I are left speechless at how wonderful the night went...We got at the show extra early, hoping that Eddie would perform solo before Supergrass...but he didn't boo hoo hoo...

Big Big Thanx to the TEN CLUB who assigned us with 10th row tickets center...it was amazing

Supergrass rocked, and they knew that we were ready for some rocking PJ...I spent an hour before Supergrass' set, flashing a cardboard sign that read "I Got Shit" on it, pumping up the crowd, getting them anxious and excited that the boys were back in town...and it worked pretty good 2...

We placed bets on opening songs and Nick won..."Of the girl" was beautiful live and was a perfect opening...I was hoping for RELEASE or LONG ROAD...but I'll cross my fingers for the next show...

Corduroy, Grievance, Animal, Whipping rocked the hell out of everyone and followed generously...

Ed said something about becoming Canadian if the BUSH campaign was to win...but I didn't quite get what he said...

I held my sign up high hoping to hear my request but it never came...some people behind us were pissed because...uh...I don't know why...

Ed screwed up some lyrics in WISHLIST but I forgive him...Stone's sound and guitar were messed up and he spent the 5 first songs trying to fix it with his guitar tech...

The improv before HABIT was amazing almost a whole new song or something...

They ended the set with PORCH which was amazing and made the crowd sing along to some voice stunts...

Mike screwed up in the Light Years solo and starting laughing his ass off with his guitar techs and giving himself the THUMBS DOWN, smiling at the crowd...

The MOLSON CENTER was shaking and it sounded like the roof was going to blow off the top...they came back with OFF HE GOES and BREAKERFALL...and then the moment we had been waiting for..."I GOT SHIT" was played and Nick and I were jumping around like crazy and missed almost half the tune we were so excited...It was beautiful...

"Leaving Here" was great to hear and the 2nd encore was done with the house lights on (FUCKING UP & YELLOW LEDBETTER)

I don't know if it was as good as the show 2 years back, but it was damn close...

Oh well, we must go to bed now...it's late...ciao...
