I woke up @ 9:30 this morning on some guy's couch in Montreal. After a quick face wash and a thorough tooth-brushing, I hit the road for my T.O. home hoping to get to the A.C.C. box office in time for the 3 PM fan club window. With a cup of coffee & a number of European bootlegs to power me west across the 401, I managed to get there right on time. It was nice to see some familiar faces in line who also made the east-west trip. We reminisced about last night's killer set list, Stone's guitar trouble, and Eddie's gesture that technical problem's aside he could still "fuck him."

As the line began to move, it became obvious to me that the Ten Club staff would once again demonstrate their professionalism. Throughout the tour I've heard stories about the fantastic job the fan club people were doing and tonight was no different. I managed to snag 6th row but held back my enthusiasm because I only had 3 hours to get home, wash my dirty Montreal-soaked torso, eat dinner, roll a couple, drink my face-off, and catch a subway back downtown in order to meet my buddy for some more beers and a set by Supergrass.

When it was finally time for Pearl Jam to take the stage, you could sense the energy in the room. As per usual, the band walked on whilst a beautiful instrumental of Baba O'Riley played in the background. And this is where it gets fuzzy...
They started with Sometimes, which is always a great opener, and then pummeled the crowd with a fury of tunes that made up one of the most balanced and pleasing set lists I've ever heard. Although I can't confirm the order, the set list included Corduroy, Breakerfall, Given To Fly, Dissident, Nothing As it Seems, Animal, Grievance, Daughter, Better Man, Wishlist, Insignificance, to name a few. Even Stone got a chance to unleash some revenge with a kick-ass Mankind. But that was just the beginning...the band really blew the crowd away when they pulled out Even Flow, Black, and a destructive Rearviewmirror all in a row. After that, there was no turning back. The boys and the crowd really began to feed off each other as the onslaught continued... Sleight of Hand, Immortality, Do The Evolution, Leatherman, Once. I know I'm forgetting some songs (mom always said not to drink at concerts) and for that I apologize. But what I definitely remember were the final 2 songs of the evening. Following a small Edwardian announcement regarding the infrequency of the 2nd last song, as well as an upcoming tribute album, the band launched into a blistering Baba O'Riley ... The crowd clapped and sang along as Eddie actually metamorphisized into Roger Daltry right before our eyes...it was unreal to say the least. And with the crowd begging for one last song, the boys came through with a heart warming, unforgettable Indifference...We all screamed our lungs out and we filled the room.

Thanks to the band: Matt, Jeff, Mike, Stone & Ed. You guys make it easier for a guy like me to go to work in the morning. Thanks to the Ten Club, and all those who helped with the fan club tickets...You Rule! Canada Loves You.

I will never forget this night. The concert was amazing as the Montréal show. I throw a bottle (plastic yes!) with messages from me and some friends in Montréal. I think but I'm not sure that Eddie saw in Montréal me cause he recongize me in Toronto (I was again in the first row and by the way thanks to the fan club) he give me hand to hand his guitar pick. After that I think (woo! I was so high) he talked about my famous bottle. Anyways, Eddie thank you and thanks to the band and the Fan club I'm so happy for the tickets and the concerts (4-5 oct.) that I will never forget. I have to stop here cause I know I can write 5 pages about thoses concerts.
