Shannon:
As someone who was never particularly interested in politics, I was surprised to find myself attending the Nader/Laduke super rally. But it's amazing to see the huge turn out, when people believe that their candidate is truly concerned about them, and dedicated to addressing the important issues which remained continually untouched by the two major parties. All of the performers were incredible, singing a wide variety of songs, such as Ani Difranco's "Tis of Thee," and surprises like, Patti Smith performing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," and Ben Harper with a beautiful rendition of "Sexual Healing."
After seeing the way that Pearl Jam was welcomed in New York this summer, it was no surprise to see that Eddie was the highlight of the musical performances. Before performing beautiful versions of "I Am a Patriot," and "The Times They Are a Changin'," Ed was quick to thank everyone who was there to show their support for the green party. He and the other performers admitted that they were proud and even a little surprised at the large and enthusiastic response from the people. I'm pretty sure that everyone who shelled out the minimum donation of twenty bucks to attend the incredible rally, also felt extremely thankful for all of the effort and support provided by the performers themselves, not just for making last night such a success, but for constantly encouraging their fans to register to vote and play an active role in changing our government.

Ralph Nader Rocked the Garden-- and I had the pleasure of being at the sold-out super rally! 9th row center behind the media groups. Provocative and informative, the Green Party had quite a successful evening with the topper being (well, besides Mr. Nader himself) Eddie Vedder unleashing a heartfelt version of Steven Van Zandt's "Patriot," in which Eddie proclaimed that he was no longer a Democrat and that he sure as fuck wasn't a Republican either! Big response from a loud crowd! Eddie then went on to play an amazing rendition of Bob Dylan's "The Times They are A-Changin'," which echoed the sentiments of most of the people who were lucky enough to be in attendance that evening! Eddie told us that the Dylan song was being played with permission by the great songwriter. Eddie dominated those two great acoustic songs, which had the entire Garden on it's feet and creating an energy for things to come! After Eddie's set, Michael Moore came on stage and gave Eddie and his guitar a much deserved hug. An overall sensationally great night!
