The Ten Club has been my savior when it comes to getting tickets for
the previous two tours. Fifth row in Montreal last tour was awesome. I
had no idea that they were going to set me up so well in Albuquerque
though. Heth and I got front row center tickets and we felt like we
owned the place. Mad props to the Ten Club, and all the other lucky 15
members up front with us.
I wish Pearl Jam played in Colorado, but the 6 hour drive was
greatly eased by the mp3 player I built for my Explorer (the Jakebox).
With 7.5 hours of random Pearl Jam music, any trip goes by fast!
I don't remember an exact playlist order. Talk to Eli who standing
next to me and writing them down on his arm. They played some new goods
like "Insignificance," "Evacuation," and "Grievance." Neat intro song
to "MFC" that had a similar riff but different lyrics about having a car
and some gas and wanting to get away. Staple songs like "Even Flow,"
"Daughter/W.M.A.", "Better Man", and all the others above rocked.
"Habit" turned me into a whirling dervish. Others I remember: "Given to
Fly", "Wishlist", "Go", "Black," "Elderly Woman," "Off He Goes,"
"Evolution," and "Yellow Ledbetter."
I can't say this enough, McCready rocks. He pearl jammed with
perfection and was working the crowd so well; giving flashing smiles,
winks for Heth, and eye contact all night. Can't believe I finally
caught Stone's eye. I gave him a thumbs-up and he responded with a
polite bow. Eddie did his usual staredown tactics with certain fans,
and we held gazes during most of "Rearviewmirror." He jokingly told
Heth to put her camera away when she tried to sneak a quick picture.
Don't worry Ed, we don't care when you mess the lyrics up. Hey Steveo,
what was on that CD Eddie took from you anyway?
All the reviews from this show will say the highlight was definitely
during the second encore, final song, when they were "Rockin in the Free
World." Eddie pulled this little boy, Jessie, up onto the stage who
spent most of the song bouncing up and down facing the crowd with his
little PJ hat on, flashing the pointy and pinky finger with one hand
with the other hand in his pocket. Then Ed put him on his shoulders and
danced all over the stage. Awesome.
Thanks again for the tickets Ten Club and Synergy for keeping me up
to date. You've made future shows awful hard to top! Mesa de Sol
security guards kept everything level; thanks guys! I'll try to send
pictures as soon as they're developed.

I would like to thank everyone who was involved in
getting the fanclub seats! They were incredible! My
wife and I, and several others we met from the
fanclub, almost peed our pants when we found out that
we weren't a few rows back, but in the FRONT ROW!!!!!
It was awesome!

The show was great, the venue was perfect, and
Supergrass tore it up! I love Brit-rock! Eddie was as
audience-involved as ever. He took a fan's tape
recorder and spoke into it for several minutes.
Everyone wonders what he said, and only that fan
knows. Eddie also took a special interest in the
little kid, Jesse, in front of me. First he gave Jesse
the sweat band from his wrist during "Daughter," then
during the close to "Keep on Rockin' in the Free
World" Eddie brought Jesse up on stage with him and
put him up on his shoulders! Mike was even more
incredible than I have ever seen him. It was such an
honor to see Matt tear away at his kit, and be in the
presence of such an amazing drummer. But, more
importantly, it was a dream come true for me to
finally see Pearl Jam live!
Everyone was a little confused as it came time to
start the show, because there were hundreds of seats
still empty. But, sure enough, by the time Pearl Jam
came up, the venue was overflowing. It's a shame,
though, those of you who don't go to see the opening
band (Supergrass) really miss out. I think Eddie made
it clear that he likes it when lots of people come to
see the opening bands. After all, he was one of them
on the first leg of the tour!
Anyway, cheers to all of you who are following the
guys around for the next few weeks! Hi to Brian and
Tanya, whom we met at the show! Don't forget to send
us pictures!
See you all on the next tour!!!
