Justin Pierce (aliceinchains@mail.com): The 2nd Pearl Jam show I have ever been privileged enough to see was just incredible. A friend and I drove twenty hours from Salt Lake and thought it well worth it. Even before the show started we were enjoying ourselves with all the Ten Club members while waiting for our tickets. We all waited 4+ hours to ensure great tickets in the blazing Arizona sun. Good times were had by all, sharing past concert stories and throwing out various PJ facts. Tix were great as promised! Most all Ten Club members made it in the first eight rows. Supergrass did their job warming us up and the rain was coming down in sheets. A light smokey mist was coming off the stage as the lights revealed the band. To my surprise Stone was wearing what looked like plaid pajamas and a cowboy hat. They opened with a much coveted Long Road, and then into an expected, but awesome version of Corduroy. Reeling off the classics, everyone was taken to a higher plain, away from the troubles and pains of everyday life. Highlights that stick out in my mind are: The peacefulness of Nothing As It Seems- translated well from the studio to a live performance, The hard rocking ONCE- I was hoping to hear my favorite PJ song, The energy of Do The Evolution was amazing, Rearviewmirror just blew my mind- Great song to throw us into their first break, The rare Crazy Mary is always a welcome, The simpleness of Soon Forget-didn't imagine the ukelele to be so small, The tamborine banging Baba O'Reily- Ed was all smiles during this one-running all over stage, Yellow Ledbetter-perfect finisher, a treat to see Mike bust out the Van Halen solos at it's conclusion. As I stated before, the show was amazing. It gave us a tiny piece of heaven for a few hours on a rainy, thundery Arizona night. Thanks to the Ten Club and all of you who keep us informed at the Synergy website! -Justin Pierce
