Toby Howarth (Parariddle@aol.com):
Wow this was my first ever Pearl Jam gig and I was not disappointed.

The Vandals came on to "pump the crowd up" as they say. They started with a cover of Summer Days which got the crowd going for their own material before they ended on their usual naked antics. They left the stage with the crowd ready for the main act. The sound test went on for what seemed ages. The lights went down and Mr Vedder and crew entered the crowd began to surge forward in anticipation of what was to come.

They started with three of the new songs of the new album with Breakerfall and Gods' Dice causing many fallen bodies in the mosh. Fan favs Animal and Red Mosquito were to follow, at which point I left the mosh as it was becoming very overwhelming and I wanted to listen.

Insignificance mellowed the crowd before renditions of Corduroy, I Got ID (Shit), Alive which sent the crowd crazy, Given To Fly and Better Man. Leatherman was an unusal addition which I had managed to hear them sound check earlier in the day before being kicked out by security.

Daughter was amazing with everyone in good voice. They ended the main set on Do The Evolution and Once before leaving stage left.

The encores followed with some, quite frankly, brilliant versions of Go and MFC before Eddie told us a story about a tour guide called Gerry at which point 4000 people chanted his name.

I have to admit my fav part was Spin The Black Circle and the amzing guitar by Mike on Yellow Ledbetter. I left the gig knowing that grunge is most definitely not dead!!!
