Hi guys, this is Sina, Misko and Paulie "The Bullet" reporting again on one of the most enjoyable nights you could imagine:)

Setlist: Release, Of The Girl, Sleight Of Hand, Thin Air, Insignificance, Grievance, Corduroy, Animal, Hail Hail, State Of Love and Trust, Evacuation, Daughter/Another Brick In The Wall, Jeremy, "STO LAT" (Polish traditional song usually sung at birthdays, weddings, etc. and meaning "Long Life To You" performed by the audience, I Got Shit, Light Years, Leatherman, In Hiding, Off He Goes, Dissident, MFC, Habit, Alive; Encore: Smile, Immortality, Black, Leaving Here, Soldier Of Love, Last Exit, Soon Forget (Ed solo with his ukelele at completely quiet room), Yellow Ledbetter.

After last night's show we thought we can't expect anything more. But life surprises.

We started our day with taking the trip to Auschwitz, former Nazi concentration camp, situated around 40 kilometres from Katowice (distance approximately as long as from Seattle to Alderwood Mall) - joke:). While walking in the camp we encountered Mike taking trip to this one of the most condemned products of human civilisation. We had nice conversation about last night's show. Mike was asking about Paulie's "The Bullet" displaced knee, and told us tonight's set list is going to be completely different. Soon after we completed our sightseeing tour, we met Stone right outside the museum. This conversation was even longer. Stone admitted he didn't have a good night last night and promised this one would be better. He also said they were going to play Black, In Hiding and Release for sure. He mentioned that tonight's set list would differ from last night's for about nine songs. Knowing which songs the band is going to perform 2 hours before the kick off made us feel somewhat special, as you might figure out.

But it was only six songs that band repeated.

Tonight, the venue was half filled. (As a token of appreciation for Polish fans, the band said the first 400 people who checked in at the ticket office with tickets from the previous night could purchase their tickets for the second show at half price). The atmosphere was simply amazing and everyone could get an impression that Pearl Jam was playing in the middle of their living rooms. They kicked off with Release and moved on to Of The Girl. Right after finishing it, we realized the band abandoned the prepared setlist, as Eddie talked to the rest of the guys about what they were going to play next, and next, and next, until the final song. The crowd couldn't have enjoyed these negotiations more. "Looks like we have all the time to do everything we want, tonight" said Ed after having a glimpse at the half filled Spodek.

Then they played Sleight Of Hand and Thin Air making us feel really warm in our hearts. This slow beginning of the show immediately transformed into something really energetic as the band fired with Insignificance followed by Grievance, Corduroy, Hail Hail and a real crowd pleaser, State Of Love And Trust (Paulie's "The Bullet" favorite), chased with Grievance. Then they treated us with a beautiful version of Daughter with the crowd singing all along with Eddie right until the Pink Floyd ending (Eddie wearing a gas mask), and Jeremy with the audience singing all of Eddie's ooooh's and uuuh's.

It was then, when the fans took the initiative and sang an old, traditional Polish song called "Sto Lat", meaning "Long Life..." in favor of the Pearl Jam. The band was standing there stunned and it was Eddie's "Grazie" which let us move on to the rest of negotiable, and non-existing set list. They played I Got Shit next. Sina was in his own, private corner of heaven.

"This one is...Well...it means a lot to me. And maybe to you" this way Eddie introduced Light Years. "This one is called Leatherman and it's about dead person, too" Eddie again, and Spodek was filled with fast rocking tunes. Stone's (our new mate:) - we shook hands, after all) In Hiding, beautifull Off He Goes - introduced by Eddie again: "This is the song about friendship. About having an asshole as a friend" and pointing his finger at himself and smiling mysteriously.

Then the band played rarely performed Dissident (the one Misko was desperately waiting for) followed by a faster than usual MFC, a hard version of Habit and an unforgetable Alive.

Just like the day before, the applause didn't leave the band indifferent and after few minutes of us clapping hands - they were back. The encore started with Smile during which the band exchanged gestures of kindness with us. During the next song - Immortality - each of the guys had his own solo (Jeff enjoyed his the most) and before we could settle a little, Stone was ready to start Black, which he promised us. You wish you could see Eddie checking out if we could recognize the next tune - Leaving Here - after one, two or three notes. We surely passed that little test and were awarded with a great version of that song. The mighty Pearl Jam proved to be regular flesh and bones when Eddie messed up the beginning of The Soldier Of Love and sang the same lines for couple of times making it simply exceptional.

Last Exit's hard tunes were a surprise to all of us and right after bringing it to the end, when we thought it was going to be all for tonight, Eddie came to the front, leaving rest of the crew behind and hiding his ukelele behind his back. "We got a couple more songs for you. But this instrument I am holding, is really small, and I want you to be completely silent" and when the audience went totally mute, he made his way thru Soon Forget.

Yellow Ledbetter was the farewell to Poland. However, we guess the band didn't expect what happen after. Storming applause throughout the whole song and another "Sto Lat" made Eddie and the rest of the band give out all the guitar pics and drum sticks. Eddie was taking his Polaroids of fans and one of himself which he threw to the crowd making one girl the happiest in the room.

We just want to say it was the coolest thing in the world to have Pearl Jam in Poland for two consecutive nights playing two totally different shows. We were happy to see some of our Hungarian friends made it to Katowice. We also want to thank Katowice audience for the greatest atmosphere we could get, giving us memories we will never forget.

Mike and Stone: how about playing Porch in Berlin, eh? and at least few accords of Crazy Mary, just for Aska, Agata and Petra - our beloved girls who we will bring with us to Berlin???

You will hear from us after Berlin show. Take it for granted.

Sina, Paulie "The Bullet" - sinabros@inet.com.pl

Misko - mig@inet.com.pl ,the mighty Szczecin Crew

ps. After counting it all up, we heard 51 different songs in Poland. How about that?
