Ike Branham: First I have to say "Thank You" to the Ten Club for the wonderful job they have done with the tickets. I was gracious enough to sit in the 8th row, dead center. I will always be indebted to the Ten Club for the personal time they used to make sure the fans get the greatest seats available. Now to the show,,,,,, Opening with Of The Girl, was one heck of a way to begin the Night. It was a wonderful opener. I didn't know if I would have enough energy to keep jumping around after the opener or not, it got me pumped up. I found the energy to dance my ass off all night though. They really ripped the next four songs up, (Corduroy, Insignificance, Brain of J, and Evacuation) they were hitting on all cylinders, Ed's voice just gives me cold chills, he knows how to bring a song into your heart and soul. Right after Evacuation, Ed said the song was written by Matt, and that drummers usually don't like the singer, and that it was a hard song to sing. He had to take a big sip of wine to wet his throat after that song...it rocked. Ed said it was nice to be in NC, and that they had been in NC for 2 days and it seemed like 2 years. The band continued on with Jeremy next. I have always loved this song, and was jumping around like crazy. Another favorite, Daughter was next, I was thinking in my head what they might sing as the tag...it was something I haven't heard Ed sing yet, he picked up his notebook and sang from it, I remember the part "I wish that I could light the path to keep you from the danger." Next was MFC, and Whipping, which were definitely making the sweat run from my head, and soaking my Bulls shirt, I was soaking wet when the show was over. Another favorite of mine, Wishlist was next, Ed didn't sing NC over and over like he did in Charlotte though. A nice and soothing Betterman played next, Ed really does a good job on this song, so it must also be a favorite of his. The next song I have yet to hear live, Leatherman, I really watched the whole band closely during this song, I was admiring how they feed off of each other, and really do seem like they are having a great time. The next song is so powerful, Grievance, I could do nothing but sing as loud as I could and jump to my hearts content. I can honestly say, Grievance rocked......Even Flow was next, and man, I though my heart was going to jump right out of my chest. I thought Even Flow was the best song they played in Charlotte, and it was just as powerful here too. The next song was also a surprise, In My Tree. I used to jam to this song in 98 on my way to work every morning. I was glad to have finally heard it LIVE. Of course the next song needs no explanation at all, BLACK, it is, and will always be, one of my favorite songs of all time, This made the 3rd time I have heard it Live, and I will never forget each time. The band then flew right into Spin the Black Circle, another song I haven't heard live until then, what else can I say...I was completely in awe at this moment. Rearviewmirror...Ed threw down in this song...he was playing so hard that he broke a string, he continued on, and then threw his leg up and kicked the string off, when they finished the song Ed started ripping at the strings again, and he ripped them all out...then threw the guitar about 15 feet in the air, and caught it. It was Awesome to say the least. Little did I know, but there was a surprise in the First encore. They started with Light Years, which had me looking towards the sky, thinking of my brother, which whom I lost to a car accident 4 years ago. This song gets me emotional. After the song, Ed had the lights turned on, and walked to the right side front of the stage and pointed out a guy who had been holding up a recorder all night. Ed told him to give him the recorder, so he could put his arms around his girl during the next song. Ed then said a few things in the recorder and set in on the floor in front of him...and to my surprise, cut into a full version of Crazy Mary, I could have just passed out right then. It was Amazing. They finished up the first encore with Do the Evolution, which had the crowd jumping, SOLAT, another crowd favorite, Last Kiss, which had everyone singing from start to end, and Breakerfall, which kicked ass. I love the part he sings, "and she's standing outside hating everyone here." For the Last encore, I knew it was coming, because Ed didn't play it in Charlotte, Soon Forget. I didn't know if people were going to get quiet enough to hear it, but the crowd finally calmed down. Ed said he wasn't good with math but he wanted to say "Thank You" and put Absolute Value Brackets around it. He also said he hoped he got through the song without fucking up. The last song of the night was indeed a surprise...I was expecting Yellow Ledbetter, but when I seen Eddie brandishing a Harmonica, I knew we were in for a treat, and we was.......Smile..."I miss you Already." I just want to say I miss You (PJ) already...and I hope you come back soon, even though Eddie did say, "See ya in 10 years" when he started to walk off the stage. Please, don't wait 10 years. What a weekend...2 Pearl Jam shows in 3 days...I am truly blessed. This will be a weekend I'll relive over and over in my head for life. Thank You, Pearl Jam, and Thank You Ten Club, and Thank you Jamily...I love you all.
