What an amazing evening. While the concert was all too intense for me to remember each and every song in the correct order, I have a pretty good idea of what they played and when they played it.
The band took the stage at around nine o'clock. Eddie was sporting the new beard, and Mike came out in a tank top. Our seats were great, (8th row, center- thank you Ten Club), so we had a pretty good view of what was going on. The first song they played was a pleasant surprise, as they opened with a wonderful version of "Oceans." Eddie mentioned to the crowd several times how he had attempted to surf that day but there were no waves - he went on to say that the only thing that broke was his heart, as they went into a great version of Nothing As It Seems. Some highlights of the show were Mike's incredible guitar work, along with his jumping and running around the stage. Also, during an incredible version of Rearviewmirror, during the middle jam, Eddie leaned up against Jeff's chest while they both just kept jamming right along. During the encore, Eddie sported a "No Bush 2000" shirt that a fan in the front threw up to him, commenting to the crowd that "I could not agree more."
This was the fourth time I have seen the guys play, and it blew the other three out of the water. There were only a few songs in which they took it easy (Oceans, Thin Air, Elderly Woman, Present Tense, Nothing As It Seems), as they spent most of the evening going full throttle. The highlights for myself were Not for You, Rearviewmirror, Grievance, an incredible version of Leaving Here during the encore, and a crazy version of Rockin' in the Free world. They also thrilled the crowd with a great rendition of State of Love and Trust. Eddie and Mike were jumping around like crazy, and the crowd really responded. Anyways, if you haven't gotten to see the guys live, you owe it to yourself to see the greatest act in rock right now. I'm going back for more tonight. Thanks so much to the tenclub for taking care of us fans.

Well, I must say it was an amazing show. I went with my friend who hadn't
seen Pearl Jam before, but was a very big fan; I had seen them last time
they came to West Palm. There were definitely a lot of memories, so I'll
try to relate them. First of all there were a few songs I was ecstatic to
hear that I really didn't think would make the list. Songs like Brain of J,
Fatihfull and Dissident. It was also really cool to hear them open up with
Oceans, which I had never heard live before. They did a some pretty hard
hitting tunes like Animal, Grievance, Even Flow and Corduroy. And I was
thrilled to hear Red Mosquito, Mike did a great job with the guitar playing
as always! And there were some nice mellow moments in there as well.
My
friend and I agree that Better Man was one of the best of the night. It was
great to be singing along with everyone on that one, especially the last
part where it's just "Ohhhhhhh..." They also played Elderly Woman...which got
everyone singing as well. One last "tender" moment: right before the
guitar solo in MFC (I swear to god) there was a shooting star that went all
the way across the pavilion - we were on the lawn so we had a good viewing
spot for it. And what review would be complete without mentioning a couple
of screwups from the forgetfull Eddie? (we still love him) On Curdoroy he
skipped a couple lines right before "can't buy what I want because it's
free..." and he did a couple of word changes on Not For You - "table seats
just one" and on Do The Evolution - "this land is mine, it should be free,"
but it's these little mix ups that make seeing them live so much fun.
Finally, they closed with a great version of keep on Rockin in the Free
World. Eddie broke out his coathanger shirt (he wore it on SNL when they
did porch) except for this time it said "NO BUSH IN 2000" Overall it was a
great night, definitely worth the $$. Can't wait for next time!

Last Night in West Palm PJ was well indeed rockin'!!! This was my first
Pearl Jam show, I can honestly say the best show I have ever seen by
anybody. We (best friend and I) started the day at 4:30 P.M. (I had to beg
my boss to let me off early) I drove from Tampa to West Palm Beach and
arrived at our seats (Sec. 8 Row T) around 8:15 P.M. Horrible storms on the
way delayed our trip slightly. When we arrived at MMA you could feel the
energy, it was bound to be an excellent night. As soon as Oceans began I
was just in awe, I got the chills. Everything was perfect for the 2 hours
while PJ was on stage, even when Eddie fumbled some of the words on Even
Flow. The show ended differently as the others, they played some rockin'
tunes to end the show. With Leaving Here (one of my favs!!) then Eddie
asked for the all the lights to come on and everybody sang Rockin' In The
Free World!!
Then the rest of the journey began, I had to be at work today
at 8:30 A.M back in Tampa. So the drive home was long but we discussed what
a great set they played the entire way home. We arrived back in Tampa
around 3:20 A.M. I got some Z's and surprisingly made it on time to work
today. The good news is this story is not going to end here, my friend and
I are repeating the process tonight. Tonight (8/10) we are still in Sec. 8
but in Row E for the second show. Yes, I do have to be in Tampa to work
Friday morning at 8:30 A.M., but it is well worth it. Then Sat. night we
see PJ front and center (hopefully) with the Ten Club tix. So after Sat
night I can say with Pride I saw he Greatest Band in the World THREE times!!
KEEP ON ROCKIN'!!!!
