Clinton Sell (GofSTONE@aol.com):
To start things off my wife, Jackie and I got to the Ice Palace in Tampa at 7:30 p.m. By the way the Ice Palace is very nice. Anyways first thing was a bathroom break (An hour drive from where I live.) After that it was straight to the T-shirt booth to pick up a Binaural Tour T-shirt and Tour poster. After that it was to find our seats (great seats by the way). We were on the right hand side of the stage. And I think I got some great pictures.

Sonic Youth came on about 5 minutes after we sat down. They played about 5 or 6 songs. They thanked Pearl Jam and said they would do a quick set. Sonic Youth finished up and they got the stage ready for Pearl Jam.

Pearl Jam took the stage about 9:00 and of course the whole place goes crazy. They blast into Corduroy (one of my personal favorite) Grievance is next, Last Exit, And then Animal Eddie counting off "12345 against 1 "Then after that right into God's dice. Like rapid gunfire. On great song after another. I was blown away! By this time Eddie was talking to the crowd. He says what a great time they had in Florida and of course the crowd goes nuts. And big applause from Mike who was born in Florida. Then Eddie looks to his right and says "Well this must be West Tampa "Then he looks straight ahead and says "This must be North Tampa" looks at our side and says "This must be East Tampa"and swings around behind him and Says "And lets not forget South Tampa" and everyone back there is flipping out!

Then he says to them "Watch our Backs" not "watch our Asses "which I have been hearing. At that point they slow it down a bit with Tremor Christ and Nothing as it Seems. And then a blast from the past Jeremy. Evacuation is next. The guys are in full swing at this point. Eddie with wine bottle at the microphone stand. High jump antics from Jeff, Mike is on the edge of the stage, Stone is stomping to the beat and getting in the funk, Matt is beating his drum set.

They slow it down again with Betterman. A quick Lukin. At this point Eddie was in great spirits handing out pens, notebooks, and anything else he could find. Next up was Light Years (another favorite of mine) Daughter is next with Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall. There were request signs all over. So Eddie says we have to sing one for them or they aren't doing any of our requests. So it was Another Brick in the Wall. Fair enough Eddie you win. We sing. Things are going great Everyone is on their feet and clapping and singing. Even Flow is up next a lot of High jumps from Eddie and Jeff and the crowd is loving every second.

Eddie even offers a girl on the side of the stage a drink from his wine bottle and she gladly accepted. Thanks Eddie! After a few more songs they finish the set with a great Rearviewmirror. And off they go. A minute or two later they are back. Do the Evolution, Hail Hail, and then its time of a request Garden, Immortality, and Soldier of Love, and a great Porch it seemed like Stone was having problems with his pedal board during Porch. I could see him very well since I was on the right hand side of the stage. But it gets worked out quickly to finish up the set.

Again Eddie is handing out stuff. A couple jumps from Eddie (with wine bottle still in hand) bad landing and almost eats some stage but he recovers quickly, and off they go.

Well, off they go again. But we all know they can't get away from us that soon. Then here comes Eddie taking Polaroid's of the crowd. He even takes one of himself and throws it into the audience. He grabs his Ukulele and asks the Audience to be quiet because the Ukulele would have no chance against our clapping. Sure thing Eddie. Soon Forget by Mr.Vedder.Then the boys join him on stage for Indifference.

Then the exit the Stage. People start leaving the lights come on. STOP! here they come! I can't believe it a 3rd. Yes! A 3rd encore. They blast into Rocking in the Free World. And the whole damn place is in a frenzy! They have really out done themselves this time. All and all the best Pearl Jam concert I have ever been to. To sum it all up in one word. "Awesome"
