My First Ever Pearl Jam Concert I can't begin to explain the feeling I felt when Pearl Jam took the stage. It was almost like I wasn't there. I was on the fourth row! I couldn't believe it. The Ten Club hooked me up. I'd been waiting for them to play the night I found out when they were going to release and album called Binaural (which was a very long time). They sounded so crisp and clear. The mix was perfect. Everything was just awesome. I had a dream they were going to open up with "Of the Girl." I told the people sitting behind me but they didn't believe me. The first four songs they played absolutely gave me chill bumps. I was in complete awe. When they busted into "Tremor Christ," I nearly fell out. Out of all of the setlists I've seen, I've never seen them play "Tremor Christ." I cannot put into words the feelings I felt when I heard them play songs I've heard countless times in my room. It was by far the best concert I've ever been to. Perhaps the biggest shock of the night was when they played "In My Tree." I've joked to friends about them playing that song. It was great. Ed has the most powerful voice I've ever heard. They lowered this huge disco ball during "Wishlist." It reflected around the whole Pyramid. It was truly a special moment. They closed off their first set with "Rearviewmirror." They absolutely smoked it. They didn't lose any steam on their second set. They fired it up with "Breakerfall" which made me like the song a lot more than I already did. "State of Love and Trust" brought back so many memories in my mind. I went pretty nuts on that song. They finished up the night with "Baba O' Riley." After the concert was over I went up to the stage and got a setlist. My hand that was holding it was shaking uncontrollably. It was the weirdest thing. Needless to say I was a pretty happy fellow. I cannot wait to see them again.
Pjtony10@aol.com: This was by far the greatest two and half hours of my life. I cant even begin to explain how great a night it was. It seems that the band are really having a good time out there (especially Mike). Ed was up there jumping, singing, dancing, doing it all. Some highlights: Ed says he needs a jacket, "something nice." A roadie comes on stage and puts a pin stripe jacket on him. It was great. Rearviewmirror is definitely one of their best played live, and tonight it was amazing. They play with so much intensity. Grievance was a real treat to hear. It is an amazing song live. You can tell they were really excited to play their new stuff. Go and Do The Evolution really brought the house down. All five of them were on stage dancing and hitting the floors hard. The crowd was so into it. But Baba O'Riley was the definite highlight of the night. I was praying that they would perform it. The fact that they ended the concert with it makes it all the better. I couldn't help but tear up. I've been listening to these guys for a long time, and to hear them live for the second time was a real privilege. To turn around for a few seconds and see thousands of people yelling, dancing, and singing along with so much joy is an amazing feeling. To Pearl Jam: Thank you so much. |
