Oh my God, where do I begin? I have seen Pearl Jam 6 times now and this was their finest hour (or rather 2+). I was first in line to get tickets to the Pyramid and made some great friends while waiting for fan club tix to arrive. I got second row directly in front of Mike. Awesome. My friend Julie and I had seen them in Atlanta the week before so we thought we were prepared for what was ahead of us. Nothing was further from the truth.
Mike made the show for me personally while Eddie was Julie's favorite (no surprise there!). Mike was not only giving his best, but he loved playing for the audience. He posed for so many pictures that night and rewarded some fans by chunking goodies into our laps. Picks, of course, came from everyone but Mike also threw in some other stuff. Julie caught a red Oakley hat and I got some Oakley sunglasses while two girls in front of us got some shirts. Damn fine man that McCready.

The best part of the show however, was the setlist. I could not have put together a better one. Some personal requests were played for me that night even though they don't know it. I had been waiting since '96 to hear Save it for later after Betterman and after not getting my wish in Charlotte 96, and Atlanta and Birmingham 98, and Atlanta 00 this was well deserved I thought. Another highlight for me was In My Tree. The mirrorball for Wishlist was HUGE. Too many brilliant colors dancing off of that thing for me not to stand with my mouth agape the whole time. Last Exit was rockin my head right off my shoulders. During the silence in Insignificance I screamed my friggin head off so if they put this tour on bootleg and you hear that --- it's just me. Julie absolutely loved Footsteps and State of Love and Trust, but what can I say---so did I. The Elvis cover I knew was coming but I had no idea that that song had so much potential as a punk song. If only the King were alive today he and Eddie could really do some rockin. Eddie doing the kneeling thing with his arms up in mock Elvis was too classic. We love you Eddie!
Tremor Christ was especially nice since I hadn't heard it since New Orleans '95. But Baba O'Riley was the jam on my jelly roll that night. I wished hard fully not expecting it. I thought, ok I can deal with Ledbetter again but, damn was I knocked off my ass by that one. Like I said before it was a perfect night for me. I showed Mike my stickman tattoo and he winked at me as if to say "Yeah I know how incredibly, unbelievably, insanely phenomenal we are, and I'm cool with that. By the way I like your tattoo." What can I say, "WE LIKE MIKE'.' Before I forget, I want to thank everyone at Ten Club and Pearl Jam for the awesome tix and for making this tour a dream come true. PEARL JAM ROCKS LIKE A MAGIC KISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
