WOW...WOW....WOW First off me and my friend and two cousins would make this our second show (we did Indy in '98) and getting there from here was about 3 1/2 hour drive so we had time to play all the albums and most singles. We got to Deer Creek about 6:30 and went to the merchandise tent and bought our PJ gear and headed for our seats. We were on Mike's side pretty far back but we still had a decent view of the guys. Sonic Youth came out and did about a 9 or 10 song setlist which was pretty rockin! Everyone gave them a hand and they ended and then PJ's techs came out and setup and it seemed as if the whole venue stood up. After what felt like an eternity, we saw them walk on stage and the lights went out......... I've never heard the Intersteller Overdrive intro to Corduroy and I was confused at first but I caught on in the middle of the intro...then Ed sang and energy rolled off the fans I knew it was coming but I didn't expect Grievance 2nd! It ROCKED!! Then another hard Vitalogy song with Spin the Black Circle and the place erupted everyone was jumping and screaming the words....Ed then addressed the crowd and told us that if Nashville was hell then Indiana was heaven.. :) Then came Dissident, this one took me by surprise, it was great, everyone was feeling it, every song was perfect...Brain of J...was next one of my favorite Yield tracks and it was sweet....again they came hard with Animal!! 6 hard songs to start us off! it was intense Given to Fly was the first of two slower songs after the intense start and during the "oh"s I closed my eyes and listened to the crowd...it was magic...Next Ed introduce Nothing as it Seems and Mike who was really having fun .... Even Flow was next and the crowd was in a frenzy jumping and singing .... great crowd up in Indy!... I was really not prepared for the next song Pilate!! Great song. Jeff came up to the mike and helped out in the chorus (along with the crowd) Then another one I didn't expect Lukin! Then Light Years and I have to say Great Job! to the lighting crew it looked amazing on stage with the blue and green lights wow really added to the song...then the lights went out and Ed was spotlighted and did the classical intro to Better Man a fan favorite and he added the Save It For Later tag.. Ed said that one was Better Man and this is Leatherman and started the Yield b-side... They kept going with Not For You and on the second verse Ed sang "small my table, seats just one..." not sure what the reference was there..then the best version of Black I've ever heard...Insignificance was next and before the "the plates begin to shift" part the whole stage went black for a few and then came back on it was great. Now to tell you about the last one before the encores...Go... now I don't know how to explain it but when the bootlegs go on sale if you like Go this is a must it was the best version they have ever done of Go.....wow...I don't know if the bootleg will do any justice but the people who were there know....WOW............ The first encore sported just Ed and he told us his brother was there and it was the first time he had seen him since they got back from Europe..he dedicated "Throw Your Arms Around Me" to him .... great version..then the rest of the guys came out.. and we got the 1-2 punch of Do the Evolution and State of Love and Trust.....very intense... then Ed said "here's one we have been doing recently and stone starts it" and they played Crazy Mary .. I didn't ever think I'd hear that one...then he sang Elderly Woman to all of the people from Indiana..and then Last Kiss ... Next he said "here's another car song, only this one doesn't wreck." Rearviewmirror. Then they left again The second encore ... I gotta admit I was hoping for Baba O'Riley but we got something just as good ...Indifference and Rockin' in the Free World ... both incredible Matt, Jeff, Stone, Mike, Ed, and the PJ crew thanks for a magical night! And see you Sunday
