Eddie opens for Ralph Nader
Set List: Soon Forget, I am a Patriot

Tim Hogg (timothyhogg@hotmail.com):
I was excited to see Mr. Nadar speak, as were most of my friends. At the age of 27, we have seen prosperious times, but we are also socially aware that many others are being systematically controlled by big business. Hell, we are being controlled by it, but we are just doing enough to get by.

We all were expecting Micheal Moore to be there. There were rumors that he was going to speak and it was going to be some funny yet poignant stuff. The night started with an Indian chanter and did he ever have a set of jowls on him. (Eddie must have been in awe.)

To be honest with you, I was getting a bit annoyed at all of the music and the lack of clear and concise speakers. We had a show to go to and really were dying to see Ralph. Then it happened. I am debating weather to tell the true story or bullshit you all, but here goes. When the great Ed came out, I looked at the girl sitting next to me and she said, "Ooh god, now this one is going to play the ukulele!" We both moaned our disapproval and sat back into our chairs. Then I glanced on the jumbotron and the crowd was still pretty blah. I noticed that maybe it was......

EDDIE! I found myself unable to speak. Of course we all calmed down in a few seconds and then the crowd noticed and they went nuts. You could tell Ed didn't want to steal the show away, and he sounded so great. One of the best surprises ever!

Let me just say that Eddie is a great man. I also saw him last week at the All Ages Dance Ordinance hearing here in Seattle, and then at Nader. It is good to see that he has not lost respect for what should be true democracy. I am proud to still call myself a true Pearl Jam fan, and alot of that is because of the involvement that I see all of them in at all times.
