Josh in Encinitas CA:

Before a sold out crowd last night at Seattle's Key Arena Pearl Jam managed to bring the energy level back up to where it was in the days of old. The set list from the show spanned Pearl Jam's entire catalogue of songs. Beginning with three of their more mellow songs in Elderly Woman, Black, and the new Thumbing My Way, the band eased their way into the show before turning it up to eleven in the sixth song with Save You. From then on they kept the intensity cranked up. Eddie was bouncing around throughout the show as if somebody had mixed some Red Bull in with his Red Wine before the show. I've never seen the band and the crowd so into the show (especially for a Sunday night). The entire arena remained standing from the first note of Elderly Woman until the last note of Yellow Ledbetter. Some of the true rock star-isms of the seventies appeared at the end of the first set during Blood. One second Eddie was twirling the microphone at a pace that would have made Roger Daltrey jealous (Matt should have been wearing a helmet), then the out of my peripheral vision I saw Mike's guitar in the air about ten feet overhead. Mike then proceeded to pick his guitar back up and take a couple huge swings at his amp in the front of the stage. Fucking Awesome!

All the new material sounded great live and the band sounded really "on" throughout the entire show. You could tell that Pearl Jam was well-rested and ready to get out there again. Hopefully tonight's show will raise the bar once again.

At first I was a little upset b/c another concert rolls around and still my view of Eddie and the rest of the band is still seeing them as small creatures on stage from my way too distant seat. But as soon as the band started I realized what I enjoy most. Just hearing the music, Eddie's voice, the crowd, and feeling the energy that the band protrudes is more than enjoyable. Although I can't help but feel jealousy towards the people who could actually read Eddie's shirt and see the band up close. It was an amazing performance one that I am still High from (natural High)! Thanks for an AMAZING performance. I can't wait 'til tonight!!

December 8-9

Its been a while since I went to the shows but they are still very fresh in my mind. It's a bit late here on the east coast and I was recalling the trek from Philadelphia out to Seattle. What a great trip, for a great band. The more I thought about recent events that have effected my life I recalled in particular the awesome version of Release that opened the second night at the Key Arena. This even more of a surprise than Small Town. Save You, God's Dice and Cropduster, my new favorite really got the crowd pumped for what was the greatest concert I have ever been a part of. The few older songs were a nice mix, such as Black, Even Flow, and Not For You, however the main attraction was Riot Act, specifically the awesome Thumbing My Way. Some other surprises from the two shows were Gimme Some Truth, Don't Believe in Christmas and Blood. Another great show from Pearl Jam and great memories, thanks guys your awesome and thanks to Synergy's great website.

Can't wait for the tour.
