Pearl Jam's second show at Key Arena in Seattle on Monday night proved to be a nice contrast to the first show. Any show where they open with Release is just amazing! During the Sunday night show the band sounded really tight keeping time throughout the set list. Last night they must have partied it up with Mudhoney a bit before the show because they Got Loose!

Anyone who has been to a Pearl Jam show knows that the true excitement comes when the band is more spontaneous and plays some of their songs with a different twist. An example from last night's show was during Not For You. Eddie liked singing the second verse so much that he decided to sing it again for the fourth verse. It is always funny to see him smile when he realizes that he took a wrong turn in a song. The true art of it is that they don't stop playing, but let the song loop around until Ed can jump back in with the next verse. It is great witness a good improvisation live.

The highlight of the show was once again at the end of the first set when they played a jacked-up version of Rearviewmirror. Only last night Eddie got in on the guitar smashing antics. At the very end of the song he started destroying all the strings on his jade-colored SG one by one, and when he was done it was "Pete Townshend Time" with two good hits onto the ground followed by a final toss where he kicked the guitar right as it came crashing to the stage. As he walked off the stage he leaned down to someone in the front row and handed them what was left of the guitar.

ROCK & ROLL!

Wow! First off let me say - What a Great Set by Mudhoney- those guys really Rocked. It was one of those PJ shows where just about everybody will say "that was the best PJ show I've ever seen." It's hard to Deny. The band was on fire last night and they were back into functioning as a Unit. Really tight yet really loose if you know what I mean.

Mike was relaxed and Possessed. I love it when he takes over shows with his energy (and the right set list!) Starting off with Release was brilliant then Breakerfall got Mike going, and he just never backed off. It was wonderful. The first set just went on and on, I couldn't believe it, they'd finish one song and just kick into the next one. Stunning. The 1st encore was explosive and "Don't Believe in Christmas" is a classic rocking tune which Mike was able to work out with. Bit embarrassed about this, cuz the high point for me was on the song where Mike came up with a really "new" ending for, can't remember which song right now, maybe it was Last Exit or I Got Shit. Funny how I can't remember which song that happened in but I still Loved it.

That's all I can put together for ya right now- But Hey! all you people looking forward to the next Pearl Jam Tour. Have no fear - This is still one of the best Rock bands in the World - and it looks like they wanna Bring it To You!
