Well, what a Night. I flew all the way from Hobart to see this show, and boy was it worth it. Johnny Marr and the Healers where a great act to open the show. Then The lights went out..mexican waves where flowing..feet where thimping...then came the intro to "Of The Girl"..Smart move..set the tone for the nite, laid back and energetic (what a weird mix). Then came "Breakerfall"..good song. They played it well. Then came the song which was a real pleaser "Corduroy" that awesome guitar intro just gets better and better each time i hear it, the solo was played well but Mike, while Eddie and stone hammerd on. Matt Cameron played very well During the hole nite, which Eddie commented on. Now I couldn't see much from where I was (right up the back) but that didn't matter. I was there for the Music, and what brilliant music it was.

The first 2 songs from the new album, "Ghost" and "Save You" (also the new single out soon) where played well, and they didn't miss a beat, then onward to "Nothing As It Seems" a good singalong, and Plenty of lighters lit up. Next was the radio favorite "I Am Mine" another good singalong...but LOVE BOAT CAPTAIN was made to be played live. Such a great song. With a lot of meaning to it. Then came a favorite of mine (only because I love playing it on guitar) "Given To Fly." Again Mike's skill and artistry with the guitar never ceases to amaze me, not that the rest of them don't anyway lol! "Lukin" and "Not For You" go well together, a good dancin song to jump up and down to, then came 2 more from the new album, "Thumbing My Way," which was played acoustically was a real treat, and the crowd seemed to enjoy it. "You Are" was a good show song as the guitar effects where brilliant, even though they had to start again lol!! Next up was the Always brilliant ant masterful EVEN FLOW, you cant get much better Pearl Jam then that. Brought a smile to everyone's face. Mike and Stone just kept Hammering out the riff's and the solo's which was a real treat to see live. "Insignificance" was interesting to hear live, but then came the crowd favorite RVM which had everyone in a scream..they added bits and pieces to the outro/bridge from the Album version, but that's pretty much standard now in a live act. Then there was a short intermission.

They came out with 'the new song also known as "Jazz intermission" then they broke out with "Evolution," which got the blood pumping. The song shows that Mike isn't the only one who can play a good solo, but Stone too!! Last Exit was the surprise of the nite, I haven't heard them play that before, and was interesting to see. Then they played the 'crowd pleasers' Small town (which they said an amusing little story to) Better Man (which Ed inspired a singalong) and the second song played from Ten, "Once," which was my highlight of the evening. Then the light's went down..the band left stage..And Ed came out with his mini Fender and played soon forget (which the crowed tried twice to clap along to). Then all the girls in the audience went wild over "Last Kiss" The they pulled out the guns with "Rockin in the Free World" which was apparently requested "on the street." All in all, a good nite, well worth the trip and the money spent. There is always a place in Australia for Pearl Jam, as we love having them here!! Come back soon guys cause we will miss ya's when you all leave!!
