Hey all,

It's 1:21am Sydney time, and I've just gotten home from PJ’s first Sydney show…simply amazing! I was at Brisbane on the 8th for their opening show there and the band just keeps getting better! Unbelievable performance tonight, went for 2 hours 10 minutes including the encore breaks, so all up the show went for a solid 2 hours.

Some nice surprises tonight in the setlist, standouts were You Are, Get Right (great to hear these 2 live!), Down was a great surprise and my all time favourite PJ track Not For You, which was nothing short of amazing. Immortality was quite early in the set, but Matt still had a little jam at the end which was brilliant, and a welcome return for Spin the Black Circle, which got the crowd on their feet (Not that they weren’t on their feet for the whole show anyway!). Black was played to perfection, and didn’t Mike let go during the solo! Great guitar work there, which was well received by the crowd. Good to see some Yield and Binaural tracks played tonight, as there weren’t many played up in Brisbane. Just a personal note…one thing that disappointed me was not the band, but people from the audience (and quite a few mind you) leaving during Thumbing my Way and You Are, which I believe is a show of ultimate disrespect for the band. I guess PJ’s latest few albums separates the real fans from the fake ones who only know the radio singles, which annoys me and I'm sure there are many others out there who feel the same…I feel PJ deserve a lot better than this. There was also some guy who rang up TripleM, which is the radio station presenting Pearl Jam, and he says ‘I can’t believe they didn’t play their most popular song, the song that made them famous, Alive’. In my opinion, Alive is a great song (All Pearl songs are!) but people only wanting to hear songs like Alive, Daughter, Jeremy…its about time they bought the other Pearl Jam albums and discover that there are many other tracks which are equal to those, and in most cases, even better. I guess they are the ones missing out though, so their bad luck! All in all another spectacular performance, and Ill be there on Thursday night to see them once again…bring it on! Thanks again Pearl Jam for another breathtaking and brilliant performance, concert 2 of 6 for me, and they simply keep getting better and better!

Cheers,
Craig.
