Two words...unbelievably amazing!!!!!! I have waited to see Pearl Jam live since I can remember and tonight was the night!!! Let me just say that Ed and the boys put on a show that blew away all my wildest expectations... A fabulous set list that included old favourites like Better Man and Black and incorporated new tunes from Riot Act.
There were strong political overtones but with the worlds current political environment, it was great to see a man who stands up for what he believes in and Ed was able to ignite a similar passion in the entire crowd.
The band's energy was contagious and the crowd responded to Eddie's microphone flips and Mike's general craziness. Mike really proved what a gifted guitarist he really is!! The man is incredible!
It was great to finish the show with the full house lights on so you could just see have much fun everyone was having!! As weird as it might sound I think it made it feel a little more intimate!
Well done PJ you have excelled yourselves, and made it a night to never forget..THANKYOU!!!

I approached last night's show at the Ent. Centre with a little trepidation thinking it may be difficult to enjoy Ed and the boys as much indoors as I have outdoors. The night started a little slow and the seated thing was a little weird. But I guess it was more me than anything.
A great jam show was developing and when the encores hit the show soon became comparable to any other I've seen.
I was feeling good about the show and then they plaed "State..", awesome. Followed that with "Black," then "Crazy Mary" and I thought I was gonna wet my duds. During "Mary" Ed reached down from a speaker stack to hand the crowd his wine bottle and drink it, urging them to pass it around, which they dutifully did. Ed had the house lights come up and they kicked into "Yellow Ledbetter," absolute heaven. Been more than one show I've seen that punters start leaving when the house lights come on and miss the best bits, come on people.
And the finale "Rockin' In The Free World," and I think I may have wet the pants then!
Ed seemed pretty happy with the wine etc. and was having a great time. The political thing was very prevalent. Had the crowd sing "Give Peace A Chance" with him, commented on the marches etc. Came out with a Bush mask on and gave him a bit of shit.
All in all, I couldn't separate it as better or worse than any PJ show I've seen even though I was heading into it thinking it was going to be not quite as good.
Thanks guys, there IS no better live band (no better band for that matter!)
