Andrew:

I just got back from my forth PJ show ever and the third night in a row of seeing them on this tour and I must say I'm totally hyped up about it at the moment. Admittedly out of all three nights tonight was probably not the best night but it was still nothing short of amazing. Eddie was on the ball tonight, didn't stuff up any lyrics that I noticed. They pumped out some classics like Dissident & Rearviewmirror which totally went off. Eddie changed some of the lyrics in Wishlist to read something along the lines of: "I wish I was an Australian at home underneath the sun" & "I wish I was the president, so we wouldn't have to go to war... that's what friends are for".

They played Even Flow again which I think they've pretty much played every night of this tour but I think that's basically an excuse for Mike to work his magic when he does his guitar solo in the middle of the song.... he's such a show off :) but he's got the talent to back it up and the crowd always love him for it.

Oh yeah and the highlight of all three nights put together ..... wait for it ... THEY PLAYED PORCH and the crowd went absolutely ballistic. They played the song through as per usual until about 3/4 of the way through went they just went into this extended jam session, then slowed the song down to a crawl, then built it up and just totally belted out the end whilst the crowd was going nuts, it was absolutely amazing. This is the second time I've seen them play Porch now, I really didn't expect them to play it this time around because it doesn't seem to come up in their set lists too often. I recommend you get your hands on this copy of the song, all three Melbourne shows are worth buying though it's probably not as tempting if you weren't there.

After the first encore Eddie came out wearing the George Bush mask again and this time a silver jacket and they broke into Do The Evolution, after the first verse or so he took the Bush mask off and was wearing what looked to be a shiny silver skin tight mask underneath but it was difficult to tell from how far back I was. Towards the end of the song Eddie got down a started walking along the floor like an ape then gradually stood up..... basically symbolizing the evolution of man (duh) :P Oh and he altered the lyrics a little, I'm pretty sure he said "I am the first mammal to wear see-through pants," last night he said "designer pants," I forget what he said the first night though.

Eddie made fun of John Howard for the second night in a row :) Tonight he said something like "I spoke to John Howard on the phone today, he's such a nice kind fellow. He told me he wanted to have sexual intercourse with me. He said he had a thing for American men" :D That's not word for word but it's reasonably close.

The second last song played was Soon Forget, Eddie brought out his ukulele and said "This is a ukulele that looks like a Fender Stratocaster," from where I was sitting it actually looked like it was made out of cardboard when he first brought it on stage.

It was sad knowing that this will be my last Pearl Jam concert for quite a while, I just hope it doesn't take them another five years to come out here again. I was also disappointed that I didn't get to hear Last Exit, Hail Hail, Nothingman, Animal, Sometimes, Oceans, Faithfull or even Grievance but hey, thems the brakes and they played plenty of stuff that will stay in my mind for a long time to come.

On a final note all I have to say is - Pearl Jam, you rock my world.
