Ok Jammers, this one's for you and its full of truth. With all the politics of the war being bombarded on us daily it was AWESOME to go see Pearl Jam in Denver and experience them from the 11th row (thank you Ten Club!). I drove up that day from Santa Fe, NM for the show and let me just say that these guys rock! Whatever you are reading in the papers about fans walking out is total B.S. I mean, yeah this was the encore, and a week night, and a show going on 3 hours, so of course some people are going to leave to beat the traffic. The press is making WAY TOO BIG a deal out of what Ed said and did. We all know PJ is a political band. We all know they oppose Shrub and his warmongering. Why are they trying to make him out as some villain? Whatever happened to freedom of speech?? As Ed said in Denver, it IS going away, and I too am going to make damn sure I make the most of it while its still here (hence this fanview).

So, for all you willing to hang in there and read this, thank you. GO SEE PEARL JAM if you get the chance. They deserve your praise and appreciation for helping us maintain the right perspective throughout this never-ending barrage of pro-war media onslaught we endure daily. How can someone who sings about LOVE and peace be so wrong?? When did protesting our government's foreign policy become a crime? Did we condemn Lennon or Dylan or Guthrie? Aren't all these artists considered legends and voices to their generation? The boomers have sold out for sure. They used to be hippies, now they report the latest war news in CNN, MSNBC, or worse, own the network.

I personally think 'Bushleaguer' was the highlight of the show. Its creative and original and very poignant. You donšt have to agree with EV's politics to recognize this is a gem. In addition, songs like Insignificance, Green Disease and DTE all cast a glimpse on man's evolution (or lack thereof), and place in this universe. Anybody who can write songs like that is a truly soulful individual and artist. When EV quoted Carl Sagan in Denver saying, "we're on the brink of forever", it really hit home. We are all in this together and for me being able to listen to artists like PJ who have their fingers on the pulse of things makes me proud.

I've been a fan of this band from the very beginning and I honestly think that their music is evolving in a beautiful direction. Yes its great to hear the old stuff, but the songs on the last 3 studio albums ( Yield, Binaural and Riot Act) are by far their best work. This is a band born out of collaboration and friendship. Its what bonds them together and when they all contribute, we as fans get the goods in spades!!

Ever loyal Jammer,

p.s. Just for the record, yes, I do support the troops wholeheartedly. My former husband is in the Army and in Kuwait. So yes, I can relate to the sacrifices of being married to the military first hand. These people deserve our respect and gratitude, BUT we donšt have to agree with their bosses and we donšt have to condemn others who speak their minds. Isn't that what being an artist and an American is all about? Express yourself!

One of the greatest shows I've ever been to!!!!!!
Last nights show at the Pepsi center was beyond amazing!!!! My girlfriend Evey and I got to the fanclub ticket line at about noon and found already about 20-30 people in line ahead of us. We were lucky enough to bring along a couple decks of cards, so we played UNO until the fan club ticket windows opened. If you want the time between waiting in line for tickets to go by fast then I have one word for you, UNO. I think we were able to get through only three games before the windows opened. We met another Ten Club member named John, and played UNO until the windows opened. We then reveled in our great seats thanks to the Ten Club, the greatest band fan club on the planet, and went to the pre-party at Brooklyn's.

We got back to the Pepsi Center as gates opened, and took our seats before Sleater-Kinney took to the stage. I was very impressed by Sleater-Kinney, so much so that I went and got their latest CD this morning. They have a lot of energy, and their songs really gel live. I would like to see them live again, as they are a really good live band.

Pearl Jam hit the stage at about 8:45 and it was just incredible. I won't go through their entire set, because it will be listed above, but it was incredible. What a treat it was to see one of the greatest bands of our time, and have tickets in the 9th row. I always tell anyone that has not seen Pearl Jam, that they put on a great live show, and Pearl Jam never fails to back it up. The one major thing that I noticed as a difference between the 2000 tour and this one was their use of lights. Pearl Jam has always had a pretty conservative lighting setup, but this tour sees them using some more lighting effects. A good example of this is the lighting during "You Are." If they play this amazing song at your show, you will see what I mean.

I have also always maintained that Pearl Jam has the greatest fans. People who have the utmost respect for each other, and come together almost as a family that hasn't seen each other in years. I'd like to thank every one that was seated near us, and added to a great show. In closing, Pearl Jam is the greatest experience on this earth. Together with the greatest fans, the greatest fan club, and the greatest band, Pearl Jam is the ultimate concert and life experience. Thank you to everyone involved. I'll see you at future shows, and we will bring the UNO cards.
