ZL: Before I can describe my evening, I have to thank the people that allowed to me to be there. MAD LOVE to Allison, Michelle, the people in the ticket windows, and everyone who helped all of us enjoy and experience Eddie and the boys. I had 10C tix in the past, and I sat on Stone's side. This show I was treated to the wilder side of the stage. I was about four rows away from Mikey, and my buddy I took had never seen PJ before. All he could say at the end of the was Holy Shit. The show stared off with a solid Long Road. The boys looked to be in great spirits. As Corduroy rips into the air, I just point at Mikey. Again, holy shit was the only thing that could come out of my buddy's mouth. Everyone on stage is jumpin all over the place. Mikey is the nutty Scotsman everyone has come to know and love, but Jeff and Eddie were catching some serious air. Even Stone was hopping. Song after song rolls by. No real break in the action except for the hello, and thank you in the beginning. I was waiting to catch my breath, but it seemed like they were never going to stop. Before elderly woman, Ed jokes about the highest point in FL is at the top of the lawn, and then dedicates the song to the "highest" people in FL. The boys keep turning them out. Jam after jam. My voice is gone by the time Eddie came out before Slater-Kinney. Those girls rocked. The people who didn't make it to see them REALLY missed out. They were so good, Matt, Mikey and Stone all came out to watch them tear it up. Eddie got a phone call during State of Love and Trust, some guy in the front row handed him his cell, and Eddie proceeded to sing to the caller. I would have to say the highlight of the night was when Eddie dedicated Alive to a friend that they meet last time in town. At the time, the guy was going through chemo. Two years later he is doing great. They completely rock out alive. The song, the crowd, the air was completely filed with energy and love. I will have to say the jackasses that kept throwing thing on stage during daughter was not cool. So when the cd of the show comes out, you can thank those guys for the huge jam. Jeff, Eddie, and Stone were all dodging crap. Eddie shook his head, and the nonsense quickly stopped. When YL broke out I was coming down from the show. I was getting into my mode of sliding through the crowd, when I noticed Mikey's guitar tech getting another ax ready for him. How fitting for the set the just kept rolling and rolling on, never ended. Baba O'Riley rocked so hard, Eddie went through at least six tambourines. Thank you Eddie, Mike, Jeff, Stone, and Matt. Thanks for staying together for so long. The littlest thing like strumming six strings can do so much for people. Thanks for everything you all do, to make a difference.
Mad Love, antonioramos AT usa.com: Flew over from Texas to take my uncle to a show. Had good tickets on the right side a few rows back thanks to the generous Ten Club. What more can be said about the way PJ is playing this tour in particular? What a rocking show. Other than SMALL TOWN, I've never heard such a solid hard-rockin' set list. I've got two more shows to hit (Phoenix & Dallas) and the only thing that can take my incomplete feelings away would be a rollicking GET RIGHT and a heart felt GREEN DISEASE. GLORIFIED G? Are you kidding me? I would not have believed it if I weren't there. Especially since they had just played DOWN. (Thanks for getting back to the b-sides). My favorites held their own right along side: STATE, LAST EXIT, SAVE YOU, WHIPPING, EVOLUTION, CROP DUSTER, ANIMAL. After long rock and roll battles with my all knowing uncle Bert, you guys proved, without a doubt, why I consider you my far & away favorite rock act in a long time. No pressure. Just keep making the music and I'll be there. A friend and I went & saw the San Antonio show as well. I didn't send in a fan view, but none the less, it left me breathless.
P.S. I don't yell out requests at shows. My oldest sister (Amanda) will be
in attendance in Phoenix and the littlest (Andi) in Dallas. Just so you
know (if you even read these things), Amanda's favorite song is RED
MOSQUITO and Andi's is INSIGNIFICANCE. If you were wondering, mine is WHO
YOU ARE. HAIL, HAIL the lucky ones, those in love with pearl jam's music. |
