Soundcheck for H.O.B. PJ show:
First, Stone came out followed in order by Matt, Boom, Jeff & Mike same moment then Ed. Ed was out there for less than a minute before they played DEEP, Ed did a mike check with some clicking noises then GREEN DISEASE, Mike then riffed some Neil Young riffs and they followed with FUCKIN' UP. Then Ed suggested Sleight of Hand? They played SLEIGHT OF HAND shortly thereafter. Ed then said "We should try Know Your Rights again." Then KNOW YOUR RIGHTS was played. After this song, Ed remained to play YOU'VE GOT TO HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY. He followed this by grabbing his uke and riffing bits and pieces with some lyrics of SOON FORGET, YOU'RE TRUE (3/15/02), & CAN'T KEEP as well as some other indistinguishable chords. Unreal soundcheck performance in front of staff of HOB and about 5 fans.

The selected few... the special ones... the lucky listeners..what ever you want to call us... we were all very fortunate this evening as we were treated to a very special private concert in Orlando at the House of Blues. For those of you who may not know, this venue is very small and only holds about 2000 people. Tonight I was one of a very select few that got to see a truly amazing show. Some of the lucky fans won the chance to see Pearl Jam on the radio and were flown in from all over the country. I finally had the opportunity to attend as I won these "tickets" this past week on our local radio station here in Orlando. THANK GOD!!

I want to start by thanking Pearl Jam for having an open mind and putting something like this together as I know it is very hard work!! It was well worth it. The show was unlike so many others I have seen as "intimate" was the key word tonight. Doors opened at 7:00 PM and the show started at 9:00 PM with no opening act. I would say that the entire 1500 + were all inside prior to 9:00 PM as everyone didn't want to miss anything. The one that that I enjoyed most about this Pearl Jam concert is the truly nice people that you meet while waiting for the lights to vanish. I kind of forgot this fact but was reminded of it once the Pearl Jam took the stage as there was no pushing or shoving but just a lot of fans that were waiting for great music to begin. It was wonderful.

This show is going to be broadcast on the web so there cameras around made it a lot more intriguing as you wondered what it would be like and how everyone on stage would respond. I won't go into a lot of details about the set list but I will say that if you didn't own any of Pearl Jam's recent albums you were probably introduced to some "new music." The new music from Riot Act sounded wonderful live as the band played seven of the new songs within the first hour. "Thumbing my way" was really inspiring and Ed playing "You've got to hide your love away" solo was really a highlight for me. With the small amount of people watching the show, I felt like I was in a small club and that I was seeing a Pearl Jam play prior to becoming one of the largest fan based bands in the world. At one point Ed even mentioned that they were the "house band and we are here to play three sets tonight!"

If I took one thing from the show it is how much Pearl Jam has matured as musicians and people. All though some of their new music may not be as explosive as earlier albums, the lyrics and musical touch is gratifying. Like a fine wine we are all getting better with age. We are now in our 30's some in our 40's and Pearl Jam is still there giving us what we wanted all along. Honesty and Music. Good or bad, its true and I am happy to have had the opportunity to reflect on ten+ years or great Pearl Jam music. Thank You! JFijol - Orlando

Kissoff1977:

Just got home from seeing pearl jam at the house of blues. not only did I get in but I got one of my good friends a ticket to the show for free as well. So it was extra special. I was very close to the stage and bodies were banging up against me all night. They did three encores and for me it was the best PJ show I have ever seen. I saw them in Orlando at a club called the Edge back on the Ten tour when I was 14 years old. Ever since then they were my fave band. I really wish they would do more shows like these because tonight just felt so right. Eddie was on. His voice sounded great and he was in high spirits. Very talkative and very funny throughout the night. He sang with conviction on their cover of "Know Your Rights" Joe Strummer would have been proud. I wish the people in the crowd would have known the song a little bit better but that is ok. The crowd was definitely taught a lesson in rock n roll tonight because the boys from Seattle really know their rock n roll history. Pearl Jam has introduced me to some of my favorite music. Their love for the Who, Neil Young and the Ramones really showed tonight. They are just a great rock band who just pull out all the stops and are very versatile.

Eddie was very candid in talking about his love for Pete Townsend and how he totally ripped him off on this one tune called Blue, Red, Gray. I think that was the title. It is off of the The Who by Numbers. Anyway some of the highlights were. Fucking Up, Hide Your Love Away, Know Your Rights, Spin The Black Circle and Faithfull. It was just a great set. Eddie was sharing his wine with everyone in the front row the guy in front of me passed it back. I had my hand on it and I was about to take a drink when the bouncer totally took it away from me and gave it to someone else. Maybe he thought I was underage. All in all amazing show. I cant wait for the web cast. On another note, the crowd was really into it they realized something special was going on and I think the band did as well. I'm not posting a set list because I know i will screw it up so I will let the ten club people do that and to everyone who couldn't go. Don't get to upset your chance will come. This band is going to be here for a long time.
