Dave Lampe:

This show was Fuckin Amazing... I got there a little late, and received 20th row seats. Little did I know that this was going to be such a show. I was in the very last row of the front section on Mike's side, and let me tell you, this set just kept growing momentum. The only slip up I saw was Stone breaking a string during Daughter. my god...

Sleater-Kinney changed the words to "You're no Rock and Roll Fun" during their set to thank PJ for being so great to them during the tour.

Oceans was tight, very nice. I figured a faster song would follow only to be surprised by Love Boat Captain. Wow... I had no idea how great it would sound in person. The crowd finished out the last verse with Ed just standing in astonishment. Amazing moment. At this point I knew I was in for a superb show.

Breakerfall, Gods' Dice, Save You, with DTE making an early appearance... The energy was amazing, Mike (decked out in a Sleater-Kinney shirt with no sleeves and plaid pants :D ) stood on his amp and conducted the crowd. Stone was on FIRE. Light years was dedicated to someone who had recently passed away (didn't catch the name).

Deep live was everything I had ever hoped for. He can still belt it out. Ed introduced Even Flow by saying, "This next song I know so well I could smoke, take a shit and mow the lawn while singing it." In response he was greeted with a shower of cigarettes followed by a lighter. Ed lit up and threw the lighter back. I think the fact that Ed was smoking made Mike's solo even longer! Amazing...

Daughter was beautiful even with Stone breaking a string. Parting Ways blew my mind. So powerful... Betterman was great, and the Wild Thing tag made the crowd go Crazy. Very cool. Rearviewmirror was a great end, a huge extended jam followed by the great light show.

And then the 1st encore... Free Jazz came off as maybe an inside joke within the band. Stone seemed to suggest it with a smile and Ed introduced it as something they worked on in Australia and that they would debut it here. During the playing, Ed sort of "conducted" the bad with his hands with a smile on his face. Very lighthearted.

Ed was surprised by a strong show of hands during Elderly Woman letting out a "Jesus..." when the lights went up. Know your rights was very cool. Bu$hleaguer was a nice surprise with Ed in the traditional garb and treating the mask with extra care, not to piss off the "fans" like before. The song ended with Ed and mask sharing an intimate kiss and mixed boo's. Ed made a comment that free speech is a great thing. Sonic reducer with Cheetah Chrome was Awesome.

Now the 2nd encore... Leaving Here was an Awesome surprise! After seeing that they played it in North Carolina, I figured it wouldn't happen again. I'm glad I was wrong, I love this cover!! Sleater-Kinney's vocals were an added bonus. Now Steve Earle comes out for Fortunate Son! Good God, What else will happen tonight?? Neil Young? Pete Townshend? Very nice performance. The show ended with a Kick Ass RITFW. Ed and Mike were running all over the stage. Ed jumped to the set of amps directly in front of me during the extended ending and teased Mike to follow, but he stayed back.

I drove 5 hours, stayed in a crappy hotel and I couldn't have cared one bit afterward. An absolute Amazing show. I can't imagine another show being better than this. If you guys read this... Thank You.
