Eric Smith: WOW!!! This has to be one of the most electrifying shows ever. It seemed as if the guys wanted to play all night. The energy was extremely high and the band was in rare form. Got to meet with Mike McCready before the show just outside of the Ten Club ticket windows, that was awesome!! Opening up with Can't Keep was an excellent start to the show. This song is starting to grow on me and now even more after hearing it live. Moving right in to Corduroy and Grievance the energy was through the roof. Continuing into Save you, Evolution and then GTF. There was not a whole lot of dialogue between Ed and the Crowd with the exception of Ed saying that they were making up some of the set as they go. Ed was drinking from what looked to be a Champagne bottle the whole night. The changes of the set list from Hard rocking tunes to slower tunes was awesome as well, it kinda gave everyone a chance to catch their breath before screaming their lungs out on the next song. Awesome rendition of Evenflow with a long Mike solo. One of the Highlights of the night had to be Alive.....WOW that was awesome and seemed to never end. for the 1st encore they played You Are which sounded great, Animal, and Daughter with what seemed to be an Improv Tag, Ed saying The Power is the People and the People rule the Creed or something of that nature, will have to listen to the Boot to hear it again. State and then Black. The best part of the night was when they played RITFW they turned all the lights on and everyone and their neighbor were just Rocking with Each other. Overall this is the best show I have ever been to and could go on all day about every aspect of the show. Get the Bootleg.... Get it!!
-Eric Smith AGEBALL: Absolutely Incredible. The opening song set the precedent for the rest of the night. Beautiful command of dynamics, crescendo and climax. The band was phenomenal. Flawless. Playing nearly three hours. I was genuinely concerned when Eddie fell between the stage during the second encore. Thank you Eddie for finishing the song and set with zeal! Thank you Pearl Jam! Doug: What a fantastic show....can't believe it only ended 2 hours ago. Ten and a half years ago, I received the Ten CD for my 30th birthday. I finally got to see the band live for my 35th birthday in Charleston, SC. Now at 40 I have seen them for only the 3rd time. Some of the songs I heard tonight took me back to that first show and it was heaven. Since I let my 10c membership lapse, and renewed too late, I was not one of the fortunate ones on the floor....sitting it the top row with my wife...on Mikes side of the stage. Opening with Can't Keep was nice but when they went right into Corduroy...."the waiting drove me mad"....because it seems like it took them forever to come out. Was really glad to hear Present Tense and SOLAT and Crazy Mary. Can't wait for them to come back again. And I hope Ed's doing ok after taking his tumble off the stage.
Peace Nixon: Damn what can I say about this show!!!!! First things first I came down from Detroit for the show thinking I would meet some fans from Ohio man was I wrong. It was so cool the people around me were from New York, Michigan, Minnesota and a couple from Ohio. Wanting to hear a rare song I brought a T shirt with "DIRTY FRANK 2003" painted on it. Unfortunately it was not meant to be it did bring some interaction from Mike as he laughed when he saw the shirt and shook his head NO!!! Mike I hope you got the shirt I gave it to one of the techs. I thought we might have had a chance of hearing it during the end of Daughter Eddie went into what I thought was it but went into "People have the power" instead oh well maybe in Detroit. Ok on to part two the set was unreal with a lot of the harder stuff which was unbelievable. This was my 2nd show with 10 club tickets this time I was on Mikes side. Mike was very entertaining to watch him play eyes closed just feelin the music was great. Jeff was Incredible on the sit down bass. Stone was on grove the whole night. Eddie well Eddie was his usual creative self. Matt let me say "You are" is a great tune even better live!!!!! Now let me take some time to welcome BOOM thanks to you sir I heard the most amazing version of Crazy Mary that has ever vibrated my ear drums!!! Finally I want to thank you all for an amazing show not just the band but everyone who is part of this tour the Ten Club for doing a great job with tickets you guys are amazing, The techs it was all in tune thanks to you guys, the Manager for getting this thing organized, and last but not least the sound guy it was a great experience of sight and sound!!!!!!!!!! Eddie take it easy on them strings LOL 3 broken tonight!!! If you only buy one bootleg this is a must have so grab it before its too late!!
Thanks again see you in Detroit!!!!!!!! |
