Dave:

After I got over the disappointment about how far back my seats were (rumor has it the people who got there early got better seats regardless of member #), I really enjoyed the show. I love how PJ doesn't use all of the props and big screens in their shows - although the mirror ball created a neat effect. They just go out there without saying much and rock the house. Here are the highlights from my perspective:

Better Man ROCKED! I love how Eddie let the audience sing the first verse. I think we did a pretty good job too! The song really got me energized.

I was really hoping to hear Rearviewmirror, and the band did not disappoint. They really stretched it out with a lot of guitar solos, and it sounded great, especially the end. Corduroy, Hail Hail, and Once were great too. They really rocked on those ones. The slower songs like Wishlist and Last Kiss were awesome too.

The band played Yellow Ledbetter with the lights on since I guess time was up. Eddie made a comment to the effect of - hold on, we have one more to play, but the lights came on. They kept on going though, and it was neat to watch the crowd with all of the lights on. The mirror Eddie was holding in Alive was a neat effect. He shined it all over the arena, and everyone cheered when their section was illuminated.

McCready is incredible. What else can I say?

All in all, it was a great concert. I don't think I will ever go to a concert that will beat the 2000 Pittsburgh show at Starlake Amphitheater (I hope I am wrong), but this was definitely a great one. Thanks PJ!

I just got back to Jersey from the Pitt show. I'm not gonna give my whole song by song recap on the show. The reviews here were very accurate. I will tell you that my fan club # is 73XXX and I was on line at 10:30. I was in the first row in front of Mike. I caught two picks and Ed wore my hat during Porch (I got it back). Also when they came out for the 1st encore Mike threw us a pack of M*A*S*H trading cards from 1982. It was a wax pack with bubble gum inside. I didn't open them. Still had the price tag on them. He paid 2 bucks for the pack. What a freak! Anyway, it was all so surreal. Best show I've ever been too. Setlist rocked. Great long time fans in line and at the show. Pittsburgh's a much better city than I expected it to be. This show was not in my original plan, but may end up being the best I see all tour. Thanks to everyone there. See you in Philly!

Of all the times I have seen Pearl Jam play......I must say that with each and every passing show......they just keep getting better and better. Last night Ten Club graced us with speaker deafening 2nd row seats......thanks for always taking care of the fans! Now to the show.....the Pittsburgh crowd was really loud......although I believe the night before in Cleveland had EVERYONE screaming along (it had been too long since PJ returned back to the rock and roll capital of the world!). The Pittsburgh show was chock full of loud screamer favorites such as BLOOD, once, RVM, Evolution, PORCH, Even Flow and Whipping.......these were nicely mixed in with some beautiful melodies like Faithfull, Immortality, LBC, FOOTSTEPS and a solo Hide Your Love away featuring Ed with both guitar and harmonica!!! We were even lucky enough to get the trilogy. Ed's voice was ON fire......he never ceases to amaze me.....shit my voice was shot after just 2 shows. Mike's solos were truly exceptional and his energy and excitement was very contagious! Jeff provided the deep pulsing bass lines, smiled a lot and was sporting a lovely even flow T-shirt. Stone provided the tightest rhythm guitar anyone can ask for, and Matt.....well Matt beat the living shit out of his kit. All in all.....my first 2 shows of the tour were everything I wanted and lots more. I'm pumped for the rest of the tour.....its going to be one fun summer. Thank you Ten Club and thank you Pearl Jam for all the memories and good times!

see you all in happy valley!
~Beth
