Barry Tao:

Today I'm reliving last nights concert. You know, that post-show buzz you get, thinking about all the cool moments that occurred just hours ago. Memories of fellow fans singing (very well, thank you) along to songs you've waited months, years to hear. Grievance and Insignificance?? Go and Animal? Last night was a hard rocking show. Then, the song that you almost forgot about but love materializes...Present Tense?? Where'd that come from??

Today I'm listening to the show from the mp3s I downloaded (cd boots...an addiction like candy). It sounds better than being there, if you can imagine. But nothing beats the sights of Mike playing the guitar behind his back, or seeing him running--and jumping--up to trade licks with Boom. Or seeing Eddie stare in awe at the talent that surrounds him. Or Stone (Stone!!) animated and dancing, left foot hopping, right foot swaying to the beat, turing around to play to Matt and Boom. This is what, the 30th(?) show of the tour? They looked as fresh and fanatic as if it was their first. Thanks guys, it was a special night!

Jim:

First, 10Club is the only real fan club; you guys are way cool. Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you for the amazing seats surrounded by a great community of fans and good feelings. Re: the show:

I didn't think 10/31/00 could be topped, but I think this show did the trick. It didn't hurt that it was a very rare warm June night at Shoreline, which can get to be freezing by around 9:00 or 10:00.

Got to my seat early and was rewarded with Ed's performance of Throw Your Arms Around Me. Felt like I could go home at that point and be satisfied.

Won't give a song by song description. Just wanted to write in to say that the band seemed to be in real good spirits. Unlike the back of the 200s, where the first fanview writer sat, the 10Club area was standing and singing and vibing the whole show. That's the thing about the 10 club, it's not just about getting us tickets to shows, it's about having the band look out and see hundereds of die-hard fans in the first 20/30 rows, instead of looking down and some bored couple with connections to the Clear Channel. And it's about being in a crowd of die-hard fans as well.

A couple of highlights: Opening with the Long Road set a great tone; Mikes solos, especially Even Flow, were the best I've seen yet; Present Tense, Crazy Mary, and Fuckin' Up (although I was hoping Neil would come over the mountain to sit in on that one, it still rocked the house).

Can't wait for Las Vegas!
Jim

Gretchen K:

I'd like to start off by saying this was the best show I have ever seen! It was my second fan club ticketed show (the first was from the last tour) and I must admit that I was giddy throughout the set! Everyone sounded great... I don't know if it was the fact that PJ had the day off prior or the fact that pure energy was surging in the 100 section. My favorite moments included Better Man (which was the equivalent of karaoke with Eddie Vedder... he played the guitar and the audience sang the first verse and chorus), Crazy Mary (which left the friend I brought in complete and total awe), and of course Bu$hleaguer. The set list really speaks for itself. I could tell that the band wasn't ready to leave us after Fuckin' Up, I even saw a roadie bringing out Ed's uke from stage left, but it must have been the curfew in Mountain View that disbanded the evening that myself, I believe the band, and thousands others did not want to end. I am headed to Vegas next and I will be amply satisfied if that show is half as incredible as last night's!!!
