PearlJamVitalogy:

My day began with a 2 1/2 hour drive to San Diego. Once my friends and I were close enough to San Diego, we turned to the radio station to 91X who was one of the sponsors for the concert that night. "State of Love and Trust" came on right before we entered the arena parking lot. We arrived to the arena two hours before the show and parked near Pearl Jam's tour buses. We waited in the car listening to the radio because Eddie was supposed to call the radio station and have a live interview. While waiting, they played a live version of "Indifference" with Ben Harper in it. They also played "Last Kiss" and "Given to Fly." Then finally Ed came on the radio and gave his interview. An hour before the show my friends and I walked around the arena. Along the way we walked by Mike McCready and waved to him. As he was pushing a bike along side of him he said, "What's up?". We didn't continue anymore conversation because we didn't want to bug him.

Once we were finally in our seats, Idlewild came on stage and gave a great performance. We sat there with a lot of excitement as we waited for Pearl Jam to come onto the stage. Finally the lights went out and the show began. Ed picked up his guitar and started to play "Betterman." It turned out to be a good song to open the show. I've never heard them open with that, so it was kind of cool. Mike seems very excited as he jumped around the stage all night long.

Some of the more memorable moments of the night were during "Even Flow," "1/2 Full," "Wishlist," "RVM," "Daughter," "Crazy Mary," and of course "Arc" (which I don't think has ever been done live before)

The lights for the show were very cool, and their performance was just amazing. Although no songs off Binaural were played it was still a pretty good set list. The last song of the night was "Baba O'Riley" by The Who. A great song that concluded yet another great Pearl Jam show. It had to be the best day of my life.

Matt Marshall:

What a great show! I knew it was going to be special being in Matt's hometown and Ed's adopted hometown. Ed even made references to seeing shows there also, sitting way in the back to see band's like The Who and jokingly, even Kiss. The crowd opened the song, with Ed letting us sing the opening verses. Save You is such a hard-charging great live song. I Am Mine was also a great new addition to the live set. One of my favorite moments was during 'half full' after the line, "Won't someone save the world..," Ed pulled out a handheld mirror, and off the reflection of a spot light, shone the light on every section in the arena, so that every fan had the light on them. It was a great moment, that he also did the next night in Vegas. The tag on Daughter, with the whole crowd singing, people have the power was great. Blue, Red, Grey, gave me goosebumps, such a beautiful song, and a striking resemblance to a PJ song that we all know. Then, Sonic f**kin' Reducer!! Are you kidding me?! My buddy and I always felt like that song would be the thorn in our side, the one we would never get the chance to hear live. I almost cried. And for the past two days, every time we talked, one of us just says to the other, Sonic Reducer, are you f**kin' kidding me! They played Sonic Reducer!! I am fortuneful. Thanks Ten Club, Irvine was great, San Diego was great, Vegas was great. Now I got a break for a week and a half. But, will be in Chicago for that show, and in East Troy for that show. I planned my trip home to visit my family in Wisconsin, around the PJ tour! Matt
