Mst3k mann:

Just got back from the show a little while ago, and hooooo...lyyyyy SHIT! This is by far the best concert I've been to, and definitely better than the Cleveland show (my 1st PJ show). Anyway, I sat in the lawn, in the center and as close to the pavilion as possible while having a clear view of the stage. Germain is smaller than Blossom Music Center (nearer to my hometown), so it was nice to be closer to the stage when on the lawn. In fact, Germain's pavilion and lawn combined are probably about the same size as Blossom's lawn alone. Also, there were three projection screens attached to the roof that would show the concert. Anyway, that's where I sat.

Buzzcocks were great. Simple as that.

Now, a complete breakdown of the show...
CAN'T KEEP- Got this opener in Cleveland, nice opener for both concerts and the album
DAUGHTER - Surprised to hear this so early (and no tag), but still a great rendition that got the crowd going
1/2 FULL - Lived up to the hype. 1st hard rocker of the night, also the 1st of many McCready showcases
GO - Great way to kick things up a notch, yet another Mike McCready Kodak moment with his solo at the end
SAVE YOU - The boys went full throttle with this, although I must say I don't like this live as much as I do on the album
GHOST - One of many pleasant surprises, as I feel this isn't played as often as it should be. One of my favorites off RA, and yet another great rendition (in fact, I may as well retire the phrase "great rendition" right here, because, well, they all were!)
BETTER MAN - Few songs in PJ's catalog are as reliable as this one, pretty much impossible to screw this one up. Nothing you haven't heard before (crowd singing along and everything), but still works every time
GRIEVANCE - Not one of my favorites from Binaural, but still was nice to rock out to the end of the song
EVACUATION - The first of two, yes TWO, 2003 debuts, not exactly among the most requested on this board, but it was good to hear
EVENFLOW - There's no such thing as a "standard" version of this song as long as McCready is standing on the left side of the stage. Although, it wasn't as good as it was good in Cleveland (in fact, I challenge any one to name a better Even Flow so far on this tour than there was in C-Town)
IN HIDING - Another pleasant surprise (they don't play this NEARLY as much as they should), and it started off a good night for Yield
CROPDUSTER - Not exactly one of my favorites off the new album, but it came together pretty well in the end of the song
CORDUROY - Another "old faithful" at PJ shows, nothing much to add here
SMALL TOWN - Yet more of the entire crowd singing along, which is always a good thing

Let me just go aside for a second here and just say how absolutely AWESOME the crowd was tonight, even in the lawn! I certainly did my part, trying to get the people around me more active. I tried chants, clapping, and my screams would almost always get some people surrounding me to do the same. This will come into play later.

RED MOSQUITO - Another debut here. It's funny, because I thought for a second earlier in the show that I heard it...then I realized it was 1/2 Full :) It was great for them to bring it out here
IMPROV - Pretty neat, just Ed singing about Ohio
REARVIEWMIRROR - I just absolutely flipped out when I heard the opening notes because I didn't get to see this in Cleveland. Solid 7 minutes long, and what more can possibly be said about the finale? Left me gasping for breath as Pearl Jam walked off stage

GIVEN TO FLY - One of my top 5 fav PJ songs. Beautiful.
WISHLIST - Another good crowd participation song, with a great tag at the end with Ed singing about love and the lack of it in Washington
NOT FOR YOU - Ed was gesturing to one of the cameras that I saw on the screens. Funny stuff, a lot of flicking off the camera and smiling basically :) Tried to get the crowd clapping during the "all that's sacred comes from youth" part before it rises up again...to no avail. As great as the crowd was, sometimes they just wouldn't get the message. Oh well:)
Ed then talks about the next song, and how it is as old as the band itself. At first, I thought I heard him say "Faithfull," but then quickly realized after the first notes that it was, in fact... FOOTSTEPS - I quickly proceed the flip the fuck out. Quite possibly the most emotionally intense moment of the night. How could it not, it's fucking FOOTSTEPS!!!
DO THE EVOLUTION - Another regular, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear it played at a slower pace than is usually played. It was much closer to the speed of the album version, which made it sound fresher than if they just played it the usual way
JEREMY - Finally, the group of frat boys behind me finally got their wish, [sarcasm]which they had been kind enough to share with the rest of the crowd for much of the show[end sarcasm]. Funny shit aside, it was nice to hear Ed song all the parts rather than let the crowd take over like he usually does

And that ended the first encore. Now, I would like share something that happened to me. Like I said, I was constantly trying to keep the crowd going throughout the show. After the guys left at this point, I try to start a chant, saying "WE WANT MORE." Unfortunately, nobody followed my lead. After a few more minutes, I turn around and yell to the crowd (CAPS necessary)...
"OK, THE NEXT TIME THEY LEAVE THE STAGE, I DON'T FUCKING CARE IF THEY SAY 'GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD BYE,' WE ARE NOT FUCKING LEAVING. YOU HEAR ME! WE AIN'T FUCKING GOING NOWHERE!"

At least, something to that effect. I can't remember the exact words. Remember this for just a moment as I mention... FUCKIN' UP - Kick ass all the way, nice camera moment when Ed took one of his tambourines and put it over the camera lens
Ed says his usual "Thank you, goodnight" and this is where I start my "WE WANT MORE" chant again. This time, I managed to get some followers. I'm not sure how many there were, but I knew it was working. Then, I noticed that the house lights weren't on, even though it was past curfew. Then, something wonderful happened. Now, as for what did happen, I'm not necessarily saying that I was solely responsible for it, but what I did surely didn't hurt either :) It was nice to believe, however, just for a moment, that maybe it was.

The guys come back on stage.
Again.
What transpired over the next few seconds may very well be the greatest moment of my 18 and a half years on this Earth.
I hear the first notes of...
YELLOW LEDBETTER - I turn to my friend just as the house lights turn up to see the look of utter joy on his face. I drop to my knees and put my arms to the sky not believing this at all. The people behind us high-five and congratulate me. They certainly thought that I helped it happen :) It was my first time hearing this in person, and it couldn't have possibly have happened any better than that.

I'll just end it with that.

Tglass61:

First off, I want to thank my dad for being a member of the Ten Club and taking me to the show. I had a blast and it was awesome seeing my dad having a great time like the rest of us. I was happy for him because they played all of his favorites, In Hiding, Red Mosquito, RVM, and Footsteps. Yes, Footsteps. It was amazing to see such a rare song played live. I loved every minute of the concert. I couldn't, and wouldn't, ask for anything better, thank you Pearl Jam, thank you Ten Club, and thank you very much dad. It was an unforgettable time.
