Richie T:

PJ had their work cut out for the second night. As I was joined by another friend, we saw a sign which read "Pearl Jam made us cum last night, do it again." It was so funny, I had to take a pic with my phone. We also saw what seemed like more PJ signs and fans around Toronto. A really great vibe.

The buzz around the Air Canada Centre was off the hook, sorta like it was PJ's first time playing Toronto in years... whcih was nice because it helped fueled a terrific show.

Motown could be heard minutes before the boys took stage, then Master/Slave again. Then the classic Release made everyone swoon... and the group went from neutral to overdrive, jamming from World Wide Suicide to Hail Hail.

A smooth Dissident was great - I love the guitar work in that song, and the crowd rocking jammers - Even Flow and Corduroy - which Mike probably played the best solo in EF that I ever heard live (he played behind his freakin' head!) - were sick. Eddie then couldn't remember where I Am Mine came from (it was Riot Act), and Stone then led the group into one of my faves, Low Light.

A short, Toronto-based improv then jump-started the Whipping, and Matt's You Are had a false-start, which he commented on, but rocked. And PJ went into it's Neil Young collaborative effort - I Got Shit.

Another crowd sing-along for Better Man, Jeff played another chilling rendition of Jeremy, and the groovy yet haunting Black were surreal. RVM rocked hard with guitars raging, distortion, and a consistent banging drum beat. A hell-of-a first set.

Boom and Eddie smoothed it out with Wasted Reprise into EV's tear-jerking Man of the Hour. A classic wrap up of Small Town, State of Love and Trust (my friend and I were talking about "Singles" earlier that day), Evolution and Alive - with their respective rocking solos ened the first encore.

It was getting late, so could PJ go longer - hell yeah! Go kicked off with reckless abandon. Stone and Boom led the crowd through a "rare" fave Crazy Mary - which Boom and Mike traded off kick-ass solos - one of the best I've heard live.

Eddie introduced everyone with Stone last (talk about save the best for last), as Stoney jammed into Uncle Neil's "Fuckin' Up." Jeff got onto the stand-up and started off the old-school hit, Indifference, which became a crowd sing-along.

And Mike once again said good-bye with Ledbetter. Eddie commented on how the second night felt like to first - and it did. I went to both. But nonetheless, both shows kicked ass and rocked like only Pearl Jam can rock.

See you in Camden! - Richie T. - Rochester, NY
