Sarah:

Where do I begin????? It was sooo great!

When Ed started playing "I'm Open," I recognized it right away, but I didn't realize it had NEVER been played till the guys in front of me and behind me starting freaking out, and do I mean, FREAKING OUT!!! PJ fans are crazy. I had people from Pittsburgh, Philly, and New Hampshire sitting next to me and it was great meeting true Pearl Jam fans willing to travel to see the band. This was my "hometown" show, since I only live about a half hour away from the Meadows. I know, I know, it's the Dodge music, but it'll always be the Meadows, much like the Tweeter Center will ALWAYS be Great Woods! I've been to Europe, Kansas, Canada, and up and down the East Coast to see the band, so a 30 minute ride was a great gift.

Um, the new album is INCREDIBLE!!!!! I mean, sooo good. You never know what you are going to get at a show that plays a lot of the new songs, especially since the album did only come out two weeks ago! The new songs did NOT slow down the show at all, just the opposite!!! The crowd, of course, knew word for word, every song! The fans have yet to disappoint. I was sitting with Ten Club members in incredible seats, 19 rows from dead center, section 200... soooo good!!!!. Seniority is finally paying off!!! Big "hello" to my new PJ friends sitting alongside me. Great show, guys!

My nephew, Kyle, had never been to any concert in his life, so this was his first ever ... he was LOVING it!!! I mean, arms up with the rest of the crowd, singing along when he knew the words, and catching on to the words when he didn't know them beforehand. He lost his voice. Everyone around us kept telling him before the show that he was the luckiest 16 year old in the world, and that he would never be the same after the show. "It's going to be a magical night," they were saying. I told him, "Every show is magical." So he was just soooo excited for the show.

They were right. He loved it, he's not the same, and of course, the show was magical. After the show, and ALL DAY the next day, he has been talking about the show, downloading songs, burning cds and wearing his new Pearl Jam t-shirt he bought at the show! He loved it. He wants to go back and I will make sure that he will.

I think this was one of the most fun shows I've been to, for a few reasons, first the seats and the greatness of the fans around me (BIG PJ FANS, BIG), then of course the music and the energy of the band, its soo good ... so close, and also, watching my nephew sort of 'transform' during the show. It was like he was an old school fan by the time the lights came on he was begging for more.

I was excited they played Alive, because Kyle wanted to hear either Jeremy, Daughter or Alive, and I had looked at Albany's setlist and they played Daughter and Jeremy the night before so it was looking bleak but as soon as the first notes of Alive were played, I kid you not, he was turning around giving high-fives to everyone around him! He sang it word for word at the top of his lungs. It was great...he was a fan. I had such a good time, as I always do. The band was jumping up and down everywhere and the new music is great live. I mean, really really good. A few messages of peace and love during the show, and Ed made reference to the "tear gas" situation from last time in Hartford. But that's all water under the bridge. It was a great show. Now I gotta figure a way to get Kyle to another one!!!

Peace.
