Jump down to Rumors

Hello Pearl Jammers! Thank you for all of your questions. Here we are again to separate fact from fiction... reality from fantasy! Let's look into our crystal ball (made of Pearl) to find the answers!

Just a quick reminder: We're sorry but questions of a personal nature won't be answered. This includes meanings behind those wonderful Vedder verses.

Goon We received a lot of questions asking about specific sites and cities for the upcoming June and August U.S. tour. Plans are still not complete so these rumors will be going on for a while longer. Ten Club members will have first dibs on U.S. tickets and will be notified in advance about how to get them. If you want to join the Ten Club/Vitalogy Health Club, just send $5.00 U.S., check or money order, along with your name and address to: P.O. Box 4570, Seattle, WA 98104.

As the plans for the upcoming tour are worked out, some fans have expressed concern over security measures at future venues. We can expect security to be better than at the Miami show. The guys are concerned about their fans as we all know.

A Missoula Fan Report: After two free warm-up shows in Seattle for Ten Club members on February 5th and 6th, Pearl Jam went to Jeff Ament's home town of Missoula, Montana on February 8th and played a sold-out show for 7,000 wild fans at the Adams Field House, University of Montana. They performed songs mostly from Vs. and Vitalogy along with a cover of Pete Townshend's Let My Love Open The Door during the second encore. The mosh pit was great!

Some Live Just To Mosh

We'll add that there will be future mosh pits at various venues...just remember those are people's heads, not Casaba melons...so take care!

As more of the haze clears from our crystal ball of Pearl we see many things for Jammers to enjoy. It's going to be a busy year!

  • An upcoming album, Ballhog or Tugboat from bassist Mike Watt (formerly of the Minutemen and fIREHOSE) will feature Eddie Vedder and others.
  • Look for the soon to be released Home Alive compilation with music by Pearl Jam that was mentioned during the January 8th Self-Pollution radio broadcast.
  • Expect a collaboration with Neil Young that may possibly be released in the Spring.
  • We also see a possible Vitalogy film (video release, movie, or possibly something for PBS--this is still VERY hazy!) Oops...now we're spreading rumors! We'll have to clear that one up later...we wanted you to know!
  • There are no plans at this time to release an album of Christmas singles or anything like that.
  • Yes, there will be future radio shows and there were no problems with the last one.

Rumors, Rumors, Rumors...

Pearl Rumor: Spin The Black Circle will be the only single released domestically from Vitalogy.

JAM FACT: There are no plans to play Central Park on July 4th.

JAM FACT: Eddie Vedder is not online.

JAM FACT: They never heard of that before...it was reprinted from something else without permission.

Pearl Jam is leaving for their world tour the week of February 13th and we wish them a safe journey to Japan! They will be playing other parts of Asia, with Australia and New Zealand also on the schedule. Pearl Jam will be back in the U.S.A. at the end of March. If this issue of the Rumor Pit makes it to those countries, we wish all Pearl Jam fans the very best!! Let us know how you enjoyed the shows!

Well folks, there's the latest Jammin' news. We look forward to hearing more questions from our fellow Jammers. Please pass along this issue to other Pearl Jam fans...the more the merrier!

NEXT QUESTIONS -- Again, please put PJ Rumor Pit in the subject line of your message and send them to OfTheSea and/or DigitalKat. Take care and we'll see you in the pit!!

Peace,
DigitalKat and OfTheSea
