Oh, I'm Spinnin'...
It's getting harder to keep up with these guys and all of their projects. They've been working on their fourth album (no word yet on the title), their contribution to the Home Alive project, a new single named MerkinBall plus the fan club singles. EV has collaborated on a movie soundtrack and they're still working on that home video and planning new show dates (which they're being very secretive about...but we keep hearing East Coast in the spring.)PJ just finished up an energetic and powerful burst of shows on the west coast. They treated fans at the San Jose show with a nearly three hour performance! Pearl Jam proves once again their appreciation for their fans. Thanks guys!
The Latest Buzz...
MerkinBall -- a new Pearl Jam single being released December 5th, will consist of two songs recorded during the MirrorBall sessions with Neil Young. It features Neil Young, Brendan O'Brien, Jack, Jeff and Eddie. The songs are I Got Id and a version of The Long Road.Home Alive compilation -- Pearl Jam has recorded Leaving Here for this double CD to raise funds for the Home Alive women's self-defense organization. Leaving Here is a song originally recorded by the High Numbers before they became The Who. It will be released February 20th and features other artists such as Soundgarden, Joan Jett, The Presidents of the USA, (many others) and some spoken word pieces. Fourth Album -- They are still working on it and it looks now like it'll be released in the spring. They won't tell yet which songs will positively be on it.
EV has collaborated on two songs with Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan entitled The Face of Love and The Long Road. They'll be on a soundtrack for a Tim Robbins movie titled, Dead Man Walking. We look for that to be a January release.
Mike has been playing in Bumrush, a punk band he formed with four friends who like to be mysterious. Mike is going by the name of Dr. Ed Assner while the other elusive members are known as Phelch Dunderhead, Vic Viking, Dick Ben Enya, and Vague Dogma. They are managed by Timothy Brent Flornouy. Look for a Bumrush single by the end of the year. We hear there's a boot of it making the rounds now from their appearance at Seattle's Lake Union Pub at the end of October.
Fan Club Xmas Singles -- These aren't ready yet and they haven't said what's on them. You have to have been a member of the fan club before October 20 to receive these.
The home video with live Australian footage -- Still working on it....as usual we'll let you know when we find out more.
Where Will They Be Next?
There's a possibility that Pearl Jam may be doing some shows in South America next...maybe with the Ramones. We're told that there won't be a tour with Neil Young in the U.S. for MirrorBall and that they also have no plans for a new Saturday Night Live appearance or any other TV shows for now.We Can Tape Their Shows Now???
Yes it's true, Pearl Jam has given the green light on taping shows! Now fans can tape the shows and spread the Jam. Only audio equipment can be used though -- videotaping equipment and cameras are not permitted.Rumors, Rumors, Rumors...
